As i write this post i can hear 100's of little hearts breaking
We lost our darling Crunchie suddenly but peacefully yesterday
He was famous amoungst our littlest riders who would beg their parents to bring them.for a pony ride on him, i've lost count of the amount who proudly showed me their cuddly toys they'd named after him and i think more parents will know Crunchies name than any of the other ponies!
He came to us back in 2015 with his best friend Polo,, both of which would have been PTS if my mum hadn't agreed to take them.
They fitted straight in and it was like they had always been there, even now i feel like we'd had Crunchie for much longer.
Crunchie took on the role of giving children their first pony rides, he had a way about him that just put children at ease, he understood if they were nervous and made sure they were ok, the amount of smiles crunchie bought to children's and proud parents faces used to make me feel emotional.
Some children who weren't at peace with their surroundings would just sit on him.and a calm.would come over them, and that pony ride would be the happiest part of their day , he would be their safe and happy place
Don't get me wrong, if Crunchie thought you wanted a bit more he was sometimes too ready and we had to remind him.his cantering and jumping days were over even if he didn't always agree!!
Crunchie would run rings around bigger people, slipping his headcollar and laughing when they couldn't cstch him, never going in the direction they thought he would and i'd have some good belly laughs watching and would remind people you don't underestimate Crunchie ๐คฃ๐คฃ
He knew when it was a child and would make sure he behaved so he could make the grown ups look even sillier!!
When he lost his best friend Polo and William lost his best friend Leo they became soulmates, turned out together sharing food, cuddles and cheeky momements, my heart breaks for Wills and we will do our best to make sure he's coping.
The place felt empty today, the little pony with a huge presence, his little face, his constsnt whicker, his little tongue poking out at me and although so many tears have been shed, Crunchie really is one that should be celebrated, he must have been nearly 40 years old, he surpassed all my expectations and was full of beans right up until his last day and for that i'm forever thankful.
As always it was an honour to have known and loved you for so long, thank you for everything my little buddy and you will live on in the 100's of hearts of big people and small people and be forever talked about and named after
Go give my mum.and polo a big kiss from me ๐๐๐ดโค๏ธ
