⚽ Year 7 Football Match Report ⚽

A narrow 3-2 defeat this evening for our Year 7 football team today against Old Buckenham in a closely contested match.

It was an evenly balanced game throughout, with every player playing their part and showing great determination and teamwork. Special congratulations go to Bruce H, who was deservedly named Player of the Match after an outstanding display. Bruce excelled in both centre forward and centre back roles, making a significant impact at both ends of the pitch.

Well done to the whole team for their effort and commitment. Plenty of positives to take forward into the next fixture! 👏 ⚽

Our new parent workshops have been very well attended so far. Thank you to everyone who has come along! Two more are happening this Tuesday:

🔢 High School Maths Unlocked – 4:00pm, for Year 7 families
📚 Getting Revision Right – 6:00pm, for Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11) families

Both take place at Long Stratton High School. Come along and find out how you can support your child at home. We look forward to seeing you there!

❤️ A BOX OF KINDNESS – HELP US SHOW OUR CHILDREN THEY MATTER ❤️

At Long Stratton High School, we support young people every day through the ups and downs of growing up. Sometimes that’s help with learning or friendships. Sometimes they just need somewhere safe to sit, have a cry and talk to someone who will listen.

Financial pressures mean that even simple everyday essentials can be hard to provide. So for World Kindness Day (Friday 13 November), we’re asking our community to donate just one new, unopened box of tissues. Families, businesses, staff, neighbours and community groups are all welcome to join in.

One box might not seem like much, but together it shows our children that they matter, that their community cares, and that kindness is something we do, not just something we talk about.

There’s absolutely no expectation to give. This is simply an invitation for anyone who would like to help.

💪🌟 This Girl Can! 🌟💪

Today, a group of Year 9 girls took part in a Norfolk Schools This Girl Can event held at Long Stratton High School, focused on building confidence, self-belief and pride.

The students enjoyed a range of activities including Zumba, Boxercise, yoga and karate, challenging themselves while having plenty of fun along the way.

A fantastic day was had by all, with the girls embracing every opportunity and representing the school brilliantly. 👏 😊

We are delighted to invite Year 7 parents and carers to High School Maths Unlocked at 4:00pm on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at Long Stratton High School.

During this informative session, we will explore:
✅ Our Year 7 maths curriculum and why it is structured the way it is
✅ What a maths lesson looks like at LSHS
✅ "Maths is taught differently these days!" - separating myth from reality
✅ How Sparx Maths supports learning through homework and how parents can help
✅ Why a Casio scientific calculator is an essential tool for success in maths
