πŸŽ‰ What an Incredible Day with Year 11! πŸŽ‰

We have had such an amazing day celebrating our fantastic Year 11 students.

The day began with a special whole school assembly, where we came together to recognise their achievements during their time with us. Awards were presented for both subject excellence and whole school recognition for commitment to learning and achievement, making it a truly memorable occasion in front of the entire school community.

We were also delighted to welcome Rosie Jones, writer and comedian, who joined us to unveil the Year 11 legacy project - a wonderful initiative our students have been working on.

With the beautiful weather adding to the occasion, the celebrations continued after school as Year 11 returned for a relaxed evening of a BBQ, music, and sports games. It was a perfect way to reflect, celebrate, and enjoy time together.

A truly wonderful day from start to finish - we are so proud of you all. πŸ’™

Now, we look forward to celebrating again with you at the Year 11 Prom! ✨

🏏 U15 Cricket – A Fantastic Day at Sprowston! 🏏

Our U15 cricket team did a brilliant job today at Sprowston Cricket Club, successfully qualifying for the County Cricket Finals πŸ‘

It was a tough but rewarding day of cricket. In the semi-final, we came up against a very strong Wymondham College side (who went on to be overall winners). Despite our efforts, we were beaten convincingly, with their opener scoring an impressive century.

We then went into the 3rd/4th place play-off against Alderman Peel. In a nail-biting finish, we narrowly missed outβ€”losing on the very last ball, needing just 2 runs to win.

Despite the results, Mr Davies commented that "the team were outstanding throughout the day. Their attitude, effort, and sportsmanship were superb, and most importantly, they enjoyed every moment."

A huge well done to all involved - you’ve done yourselves and the school proud!

πŸ“šβœ¨ A Morning of Reading and Connection βœ¨πŸ“š

This morning, a group of our KS3 students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Manor Field Infant and Nursery School to share their love of reading with KS1 pupils.

We are incredibly proud of how fantastic they were throughout the visit! They worked brilliantly with the younger children, showing patience, enthusiasm, and kindness as they read together.
It was truly heartwarming to see students of different ages connecting through reading - supporting one another, building confidence, and enjoying stories together.

Well done to all involved for representing our school so positively! πŸ‘πŸ“–πŸ’«

Year 10 had a fantastic day yesterday on their Food Technology trip to London, visiting the incredible Borough Market – a true foodie paradise! 🍴✨

Students had the opportunity to explore a huge variety of foods, experiencing flavours from around the world and seeing first-hand how different cultures are represented through food πŸŒπŸœπŸ§€πŸ°. It was a brilliant chance to bring their classroom learning to life and inspire their understanding of ingredients, techniques, and global cuisine.

Mrs Backhouse commented that "Year 10 represented the school brilliantly throughout the day – they were polite, engaged, and a real credit to us. They were an absolute pleasure to take, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and curiosity."

A huge well done to everyone involved! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

🌊 Year 10 Geographers Take Learning to the Coast at Southwold πŸ–οΈ

On Thursday and Friday, our Year 10 geographers headed to Southwold as part of their GCSE course to carry out their physical geography fieldwork 🌊

Students worked incredibly hard across the two days, collecting data to investigate evidence of longshore drift along the coastline. This included measuring the height of sand on both sides of groynes and even timing how quickly oranges travelled along the shore to track sediment movement 🍊

It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm and focus as students applied their classroom knowledge to real-world environments. The experience will be invaluable as they prepare for their upcoming Year 10 exams.

Two great days of learning, teamwork, and hands-on geography - well done everyone!

There was something for everyone to enjoy β€” from delicious food and student-led activities, to live musical performances from LSHS and Manor Field pupils, and a great atmosphere created by our resident DJ 🎢🎧

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, and to all those who came along to support. Your involvement made it a truly special occasion and helped raise valuable funds for a wonderful cause.
