“I’d love to come but I'm not sure my French is good enough.” I've heard this a lot since launching Sip and Parle Français.

In our sessions:
🥐 There is absolutely no pressure and no perfection needed.
🥐 We’re not here to judge. We’re here to practise, learn together and build confidence step by step, all the while connecting with others and having fun.
🥐 You’re welcome to listen more than speak, take things at your own pace, ask to repeat or ask for help.

🥖 The best time to join is right now as we only have a limited number of spaces left.
🥖 Everyone is friendly, supportive and encouraging, you will feel at ease rightaway.

If you enjoy being around others who love French culture and conversation, you should give it a go!

The first trial session is completely FREE, so you’ve got nothing to lose.
Just come along, see how it feels, and decide from there. 🇫🇷✨

Booking is as easy as a text or WhatsApp message to 07861778913. If you are quick, you could even be in for our next session, tomorrow night, from 6pm onward at DISScovered .

We look forward to meeting you and parler français avec vous ! 😊

🇫🇷 Bonjour tout le monde ! 🇫🇷

Quelle belle journée ensoleillée ! ☀️

Did you understand that? Great! You might be exactly who we’re looking for! 😉

We are a very friendly, relaxed bunch who meet every week to practise French through real, spontaneous conversations. No textbook exercises. No fear of getting things wrong! Just some lovely people chatting, laughing and enjoying the language together.

🥐 Just come along and speak some French!

It’s a great way to keep your French ticking over, build confidence, meet fellow French speakers and learners, and maybe discover that you know more French than you thought you did.

New members are always welcome.

Just in case anyone was wondering what I do when I'm not running this language business... 😅

I also run an emotional wellbeing business, work part-time at a local school, keep two young children alive, healthy and (mostly!) happy, serve as their unpaid taxi driver taking them to their multitude after-school and weekend clubs, attempt to keep the house from descending into complete chaos, and somehow manage to put dinner on the table every evening...

So whenever I take a little longer to reply, talk nonsense or send a message to you when it was intended for someone else (happened this week! 🤦) , now you know why! 😂

Life is busy, sometimes exhausting, and there never seem to be enough hours in the day... but I genuinely wouldn't swap it. I feel incredibly lucky to have such a full, rewarding life, to do work I love, and to watch my children grow and thrive.

None of it would be possible without my amazing husband, who supports me through all the chaos. ❤️

Now, if anyone knows where I can buy an extra 12 hours in the day, let me know! 😴💤 🤣

Meet Aynur 💚

Aynur is an emotional wellbeing practitioner who brings warmth, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting children's emotional development.

With training in Drawing and Talking, Sand Play, Emotional Group Work, Emotional Literacy, and Lego-Based Therapy, Aynur offers a rich toolkit of creative approaches to help young people explore and understand their feelings. She works both in a primary school near Norwich and as an independent practitioner - bringing her expertise to children in multiple settings.

What Aynur brings to every session is a deep belief that every child deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported. Her creative, playful approach helps young people feel safe enough to explore what matters most.

As part of the TLSMA team, Aynur is proud to be united with practitioners dedicated to supporting children's wellbeing. Together, we're creating spaces where young people can truly thrive.

Joyeux Le Petit Prince Day
et
Joyeux anniversaire à Antoine de Saint Exupery (author) ! 🌹

Le Petit Prince was first published 84 years ago, and yet it feels as relevant today as ever. Few books capture the beauty, contradictions and absurdities of the human condition with such poetic simplicity and philosophical wisdom.
There are far too many unforgettable passages to share, but here are a few of my favourites:

And my absolute favourite:

« On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. »

If you've never read this little masterpiece, I highly recommend you to give it a go, ideally in its original French version, if you can. Whether you're 10 or 99, it's one of those rare books that reveals something new every time you read it.

And if, like the Little Prince, you're looking for friends with whom you can talk about anything and everything, from football matches to buying train tickets, from learning a French song to sharing your favourite childhood memories and so on... come and join us for a free trial.

After all, as the fox teaches the Little Prince, friendship isn't something you find ready-made. It's something you create, one conversation at a time. 🌹

We meet every Thursday from 18.00 to 19.30 at DISScovered. You can book a seat using the following contact details:

Sip and Parle Français is nearly here again!

Fancy practising your French in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere while meeting lovely people and enjoying a little “French escape” each week?

If you’d like to discover this week’s conversation theme or book yourself onto a FREE trial session, there’s still time to get in touch!

And yes, the picture is there to catch your attention, but also to share a little of the real life behind Sip and Parle Français. I’m a mum to two lovely girls, so school half terms are usually filled with adventures, family fun, and making special memories together.

Of course, half terms can be wonderfully exhausting and don’t always leave much room for work! That’s why I feel incredibly grateful to have created Papillon Languages in a way that allows me to balance both family life and doing something I truly love.

I haven’t been great at shouting about what we do lately, but Sip and Parle Français is still going strong, with a couple of new members in the past few weeks.

Tomorrow, we’ll be exploring a real French newspaper written for a French audience (thank you to one of my attendees for providing it) and discussing authentic articles on a range of topics.

If you already speak some French but feel a bit rusty, or you’d like to sharpen your accuracy and confidence, get in touch to book a free session.

One of our regulars recently told me he felt noticeably more confident on his latest trip to France compared to previous visits. This shows that practising speaking the language regularly really does make a difference.

Bonjour ! Comment ça va ? 🇫🇷

This is a gentle reminder that exceptionally there will not be a session of Sip and Parle Français tomorrow evening. We will meet again as normal on Thursday 14th May at DISScovered.

If you speak some French and have been thinking about joining, this is your sign to come along!

We are a small, friendly, and welcoming group. Everyone has a different reasons for wanting to practise and improve their French and everyone is at a different stage in their French learning journey, but we all support and encourage each other. There’s no pressure, no judgment, and no perfection required. The goal is simply to enjoy the language and culture together.

The weekly theme gives us a starting point (I will post next week's theme nearer the time), but really we go wherever the conversation takes us. It’s relaxed, natural, and guided by the flow of the group. As a French person and a teacher, I go over any syntax or grammatical points as they crop up within our conversation.

☕ 🥐 Hot and cold beverages are provided, along with tasty nibbles
💬 Friendly, supportive atmosphere

✨ First session is FREE — come and try us out! 😀

Advance booking required:

If you’d like to build confidence, meet lovely people, and actually use your French in a relaxed setting, we’d love to welcome you.

À bientôt ! 🇫🇷

P.S. Let me introduce Tilly and Biscoff, our two very loved little cochons d'Inde. They don't squeak French, but they certainly raised a couple of questions in my mind. Isn’t it curious that in both English and French these animals are associated with pigs, even though they aren’t pigs at all? What’s even more puzzling is that in English they’re said to come from Guinea (Africa), while in French their name suggests India (just like in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian...), when in reality, they originate from South America. Languages never stop fascinating me! 😍

Did you spot DISScovered mentioned us on their last post? 👀 ⤵️

Or maybe you spotted us "live" seating around a table and chatting at the DISScovered shop out of opening hours on a Thursday?

We will be there again tomorrow evening for another session. This week's theme is "les hôtels", which was suggested by one our regular attendees. A very useful topic of conversation, particularly if you are intending to go to France soon and will be needing to stay at a hotel.

Get in touch in you would like to attend and discover our friendly, relaxed and supportive group of French speakers.

1st session is FREE. Nibbles and non-alcoholic refreshments (hot and cold) are included.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own bottle of wine or snacks to share with the group if they wish to, although there is never any obligation to bring anything at all other than yourself and your readiness to practise your French, whatever your level of knowledge. 😊

Good morning everyone 🙂
