I remember making up this game when we got the ofsted call back when I was teaching secondary Spanish. Looking back, I don’t know what I was thinking - trialing a new game instead of keeping it simple! 🙈 But I laminated a load of paper connect 4 boards and the kids loved it! Better still they learnt their verbs without moaning!! I still love this game to this day and easier now that it can be played online! 🙌

This simple boca warm up is a great introduction to Spanish!
Children are put at ease as they enjoy copying the different sounds and experimenting with the noises they can make with their boca! 😲☺️

Consistency and routine are key in teaching Languages at primary level. I found that by developing a strong lesson structure children understood when to work hard and when it was time to blow off a bit of steam! This is how I structure my DJ Musica lessons. 🤗

This is how I remember trying Mexican sweets as a kid 😵🥴

The year 3’s really enjoyed ordering their drinks from the juice bar! 🧃 Arming them with practical Spanish for when they go on holiday! 🏖
(There are so many Spanish variants for the different fruits and even ways to say juice 🥴) I focus instead on confidence, enthusiasm and strong foundations with simple sentence structures!
