✨Announcement of Retirement for Mrs Burbury✨
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement of Mrs Burbury at the end of the summer term. After dedicating nearly two decades to Long Buckby Infant School, Mrs Burbury has decided to embark on a new chapter in her life.
Joining our school in 2005, Mrs Burbury has taught in all year groups, although her passion for Year 2 has left an indelible mark on countless pupils. Her journey continued as she became Deputy Headteacher in 2010, and later, in 2020, she took on the role of Head of School. Her leadership has been instrumental in fostering a nurturing environment where both children and staff could thrive.
Beyond her administrative duties, Mrs Burbury has served as an external moderator for the Local Authority, ensuring that our school meets the highest educational standards and other schools within the county. In her commitment to outdoor learning as a trained Forest School Leader, she has transformed our Forest School area into a magical space for children to explore and connect with nature.
Mrs Burbury’s creativity has shone through in the many Christmas and end-of-year productions she orchestrated, leaving us with cherished memories, including the unforgettable life-size polar bear that delighted both children and parents alike. Her ability to forge brilliant relationships with children, staff, and families has created a warm and welcoming community that will be deeply missed.
We fondly remember the exciting trips, especially those to the beach, where Mrs Burbury could often be found standing in the sea for hours, sharing her love for adventure with her pupils. Her enthusiasm for learning in a fun and engaging way has inspired many.
As we prepare to say goodbye, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of Mrs Burbury’s hard work and dedication to Long Buckby Infant School. She has left an enduring legacy that will continue to influence our school community for years to come.
