The after school club had fun trying to use the flint sticks to light their own fire. It was very tricky but some did manage to get a spark from it. We also toasted marshmallows and cinnamon apples on the camp fire as well as apple washing, apple printing and apples in the mud kitchen.

Such a great day at WWT Castle Espie for the Shorelife Celebration. Free entry to the site and so many fun activities. We made clay Brent geese, did archery, played with bubbles, did arts and crafts and of course fed the ducks. Also pleased to see they had a mobile ‘Changing places’ toilet available, we didn’t need to use it today but great to see it there. We really enjoyed the event but obviously one of their highlights was getting to feed the ducks haha, despite us having our own ducks and feeding them every day at home. These two really are duck boys!

We have made it 🥳 Yesterday (3rd October) we hit our target of 1000 hours outside in 2026. I reckon we actually got it a week or two ago because I sometimes forget to record the time.

Well done to the boys for taking on this challenge again and achieving it. Thank you to all our friends and family who have to put up with us choosing to meet up, play and hangout outside.

Our new house with our bigger space outside has really helped along with being out with our ducks and chickens . We will continue to spend time outside the rest of the year and start our challenge again in 2027.
