🥪 8.20-8.40am: Breakfast Club, 50p for 2 items. Children can attend breakfast club for early supervision whether they are having breakfast or not.

🏫 8.40am Pupils line up outside supervised by our classroom assistants.
🏫 8.50am Classroom doors open for the start of the school day.
Parents are welcome to bring children into class on the first day to see their new classroom, meet the teacher and classroom assistants.
After this, P3-7 pupils are encouraged to develop independent skills going into class by themselves.

🍏 Break: please send a healthy fruit break

🥪 Lunch: Pupils may choose a mix of school dinners or bring their own packed lunch. Keep the school dinner menu handy to choose your favourite dinners each week.
School dinners are £3.10 per day. Please send all dinner money in every Monday in a clearly marked envelope with the amount, pupil name and class.

🏡 Collection times:
2.00pm P1&2
2.50pm P3-7
Collected pupils are supervised by staff in the P1/2 playground. For health and safety reasons, children can be collected by an approved adult at the P1/2 gate.

🚌 Bus pupils will be supervised in the P4 playground.
Pupils living in Carn Manor/Summer Meadows should use the Ballyarton bus route.

🚗 Car Park:
The school car park is always busy in the first few weeks of September as parents bring their children to school. We have limited spaces available in the school car park, with priority given to disabled access, Nursery, Specialist Provision and P1.
Parents should park in Ebrington Sq, Foyle Arena or Bond St Park and walk the short distance to school.
Keep access to Rectory Field, Gloucester Avenue, Cliftonville St and Glendermott CC clear.

⚽️ Acorn Club starts on 14th Sept. Parents should complete a new registration form at the start of every year. Bookings can be made on the monthly booking system. All of these are available on the school app.
After School Clubs start on 28th Sept.

🎒 Please check schoolbags and Class Seesaw for all communication, notices and updates.

🌟 We wish everyone a brilliant school year filled with lots of learning, opportunities and fun! 💚

This week’s free guide is all about Starting School.

Starting school is a huge milestone — and while we often focus on uniforms, lunchboxes and learning, there is so much happening emotionally too.

New people. New routines. New expectations. Separation from familiar adults. Busy classrooms. Tired bodies. And lots of feelings that may not appear until a child gets safely home.

I’ve created this guide to help families think beyond simply being ready for school and focus on helping children feel safe, prepared and emotionally supported as they take this enormous step.

Inside, I look at preparing emotionally, building familiarity, practising routines, managing drop-off, supporting those first weeks and helping children decompress after the school day.

The free guide launches today and is available until 24 August 2026.
See visual for instructions on how to receive your copy. Tag someone for whom this could be useful.

⚽️🏈 It was great to welcome back a former pupil, Miss Donaghey, now a teacher, to deliver PE professional learning for our staff. There was plenty of laughter and healthy competition as teachers explored practical games while developing strategies for differentiation and assessment in PE. A brilliant session with lots of ideas to take back to the classroom!
