We've been having some great chats about the positive impact of integration and how this might affect our school in the future. Of course, you always need a treat or two when you are sharing ideas...it helps the thought processes. 😉

The children enjoyed counting and collecting worms they found in the soil.

Y1/2 harvested the pea shoots they had planted from seed a few weeks ago. They all got to take a little bunch home with them. These can be eaten fresh as they are, like salad leaves .

Y3-5 planted potatoes in our new school planters this afternoon too. What a great team effort, with each of the year groups working really hard to prepare the soil (Y3), make the drills (Y4) and, finally, plant the seed potatoes. (Y5).

A big thank you to Dale for making these planters, David for digging the grass in preparation, Aileen for leading the pupils through all of this wonderful work and Karen for kindly donating the compost for the gardening club! We’re excited to see them grow over the next few months.

Foundation Stage children were planting potatoes today. Y1 put the potatoes into the planter then Y2 covered them with soil. We are hoping for a good potato harvest in the summer! 🤞

Easter Fun in the Foundation Stage. 🐣

We are certain you will recognise a few familiar faces here. We are SO proud of the boys from Culmore Primary School featured in this picture. They took part in the Waterside BB scripture quiz and managed to win three trophies for their respective age groups: Anchor (Y1-4), Junior (Y5-7) and Company Section (High School). All of these pupils (bar two) are current/past pupils of Culmore PS. That sure is something to be proud of!
[Many thanks and congratulations to the parents of the other boys for giving us permission to share this post].

Well we managed to get out in between the showers to take part in the sponsored hop-a-thon today. What a fun event. All of the children took part and thoroughly enjoyed it. We can't wait to hear how much money was raised from our wonderful school families.

Thank you to all of those fantastic families who supported our non-uniform "wear green" collection for Trócaire today. So far we have raised a fab £74 but we would love to raise this amount to £100 by Easter if possible. If you would like to donate to this very worthy cause, your child can pop their donation into the Trócaire box in their classroom. Here are a few snapshots from today. Well done to our Star Pupils 🌟

Dear Parents/Guardians, as you all know, we have been lucky to secure a spot to bag groceries in Sainsburys on Easter Saturday (30th March). We desperately need adult volunteers on this day. At present, we have only received word back from 4 volunteers but as this is running from 11am until 5pm, we really are depending on more help coming forward. This is a lovely social event and a prime opportunity to fundraise for our school. Our children deserve this.
It also connects Culmore Primary School to our wonderful community.
Please consider giving up some of your time to help our school. Just email the PTA on [email protected] if you can help out in any way.
Any young children in attendance should be supervised at all times.
Sincere thanks. Culmore PS PTA
