Confirmation Day 2025 🕊️ 🔥✝️
We are all so proud of our P7 children who made their Confirmation today. We have preparing long and hard for today and they represented St. Columba’s wonderfully. Well done P7, you are all great!

First Communion Class
We are very thankful today for the beautiful sunshine ☀️. We walked to our Chapel Saint Mary’s Oratory, in Newbuildings. We do this every Wednesday but it was lovely to feel the warmth and to look for all the signs of Spring in God’s wonderful World. We even had a wish under P3 & P4’s ‘Wishing Tree. Primary Four have been fantastic in their Preparation for their Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

A Special Author/Illustrator visit today 🎉
St.Columba’s received exciting News last week that we were the Winners of a Raffle! The raffle had been entered by schools in the Derry Area and we had been the lucky WINNERS 🎉. Many thanks to Laura Fitzpatrick, Project Manager, School Libraries, Belfast. Laura facilitated a workshop which the Teachers in our school participated in. We also have been taking part in e-learning courses with Libraries for Primaries. We continue to promote “Reading For Pleasure” in St.Columba’s. “You can find MAGIC wherever you LOOK. Sit back and RELAX, all you need is a BOOK.” Dr SeussI would like to thank Ellen Rankin for visiting St.Columba’s today and reading her wonderful Book: The Secret Elephant. The raffle had been entered by schools in the Derry Area and we had been the lucky WINNERS 🎉. Many thanks to Laura Fitzpatrick, Project Manager, School Libraries, Belfast.
