Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Tyler and Julia, were busy carrying out their ambassadorial duties early this summer when they proudly represented Lisneal at a special service held in St. Columb's Cathedral on 1st July.
The service marked the visit of the Anglican Consultative Council to the city and brought together pupils from across the Foyle Learning Community. Tyler and Julia joined students from other local schools in reading passages from Scripture and participating fully in the service.
Throughout the event, they both represented Lisneal with confidence, respect and maturity, demonstrating the values that underpin our school community. Their participation provided an excellent opportunity to engage with young people from across the city while contributing to a significant occasion for the wider community.
We are extremely proud of Tyler and Julia for the manner in which they represented our school and for the positive contribution they made to the service. We can’t wait to see them continue on their leadership journey. 💙

Well done to our pupils Gregg and James, who have just completed an incredible 96 mile trek along the West Highland Way in just 6 days with the 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion, Army Cadet Force.
This journey tested their endurance, resilience, teamwork and determination, and they rose to the challenge every step of the way.

What a fantastic first day for our new Year 8 pupils as they took part in their induction session this morning. They made new friends, explored our school building, met their teachers, and settled into their new surroundings.
The journey into "big school" has officially begun! We were delighted with how each and every pupil embraced the morning with enthusiasm, confidence, and positivity.
Thank you to all of our parents, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings who came along too. Your support throughout this journey is invaluable, and we are grateful for the important role you play in helping our young people thrive.

We are delighted to welcome our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they begin an important year of their academic journey on Friday 28th August.

Year 11 Induction: 9:15-10:15am
Year 13 Induction: 11-11:45am

The induction sessions will provide students with important information about the examinations process, expectations for the year ahead, and how pupils can work towards achieving their academic goals and success.
We look forward to welcoming our students and supporting them as they make the most of the opportunities ahead. 📚✨

🕤 9:30am - Welcome
🕤 9:45am - Assembly with Mrs R. Mullan and Mr S. Young for pupils and parents in the Sports Hall.
☕ 10am - Refreshments and pastoral information delivered by Mr C. Peters.
Pupils will then break off into groups with their new Form Teachers.
🕦 11:30am - Finish

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) - Gold 🥾⛺
Congratulations to our Sixth Form pupils who successfully completed their DofE Gold Practice Expedition in the Mournes.
Having already achieved their Bronze and Silver Awards, our pupils are now well prepared for their Gold Qualifying Expedition in September. Despite challenging wet and windy conditions, they showed excellent teamwork, resilience and determination throughout.

Thank you to the staff who supported and facilitated the expedition.
Well done to all involved - we look forward to seeing you complete the final stage of your DofE journey! 🏆

Our best GCSE results ever!!🌟

99.4% of our pupils achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A-C grades.
76.8% achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C including Mathematics.
76.3% achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C including English.
70.9% achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C including both English and Mathematics. ⭐️

And, for the first time in the history of Lisneal College, 100% of our boys achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A-C. An incredible achievement! 💙

Congratulations to every single one of our Year 11 and 12 students. All that hard work, determination and effort paid off. We are so proud of every young person and all that they have achieved.
These results are also a reflection of the incredible people who support our pupils every step of the way. A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, heads of department, teaching assistants, technicians, office staff, caretakers and canteen team. Your encouragement, expertise and commitment make a lasting difference to the lives of our young people.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our parents and families. Your support, encouragement and partnership with the school are such an important part of our pupils’ success. Working together, we can help our young people believe in themselves, aim high and realise their potential. Thank you for trusting us and for supporting your children throughout their journey.

World Champions! 🏆
Congratulations to our Year 9 pupils (soon to be Year 10), Dillon and Grace, on their incredible achievements at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow Green on Saturday! 🌍
Dillon and Grace took part in the championships with the Bready Ulster Scots Pipe Band, where they were crowned World Champions and World Champion Drummers! Grace plays the tenor drum and Dillon the snare. They were delighted to celebrate with the trophies they received. 🥁

The staff at Lisneal College look forward to welcoming our Year 11 and 12 students, along with their parents and carers, on Thursday 20th August as they collect their GCSE examination results. ⭐️
GCSE Results Day marks an important milestone in our students’ Key Stage 4 journey, recognising their hard work, commitment and progress as they prepare to take the next steps in their education and future pathways.
