Jonathan Orr Book Launch and FCFPA AGM

We’re delighted to invite you to a special evening at Foyle College celebrating both past and present.

Join us on Thursday 28th May at 6.30pm in the Foyle College Archive for the launch of Imperial Rule in India by former pupil Jonathan Orr.

This promises to be a fantastic occasion, bringing together past pupils and friends of the school, alongside the Foyle College Former Pupils’ Association AGM.

It’s a great opportunity to reconnect, reflect on shared history, and look ahead as we appoint a new committee to carry the FCFPA forward.

The Spring Lunch provides a relaxed daytime opportunity for former pupils to meet, renew friendships and enjoy good company in comfortable surroundings. We encourage former pupils across all year groups to attend and would be grateful if members could share this information with anyone who may wish to join us.

Spring Lunch - Saturday 21 March 2026

Annual Dinner - Friday 16 October 2026
7.00pm for drinks | 7.30pm dinner
Cost: £50
Dress: Lounge suit and cocktail dress

Former pupil Gill Barr at the launch of her new poetry collection “A Wide River Divides Us”.

We’re delighted to see Gill’s creativity and talent celebrated in print, and we wish her every success with this wonderful publication.

We’re delighted to share that Gillian Barr, a former pupil from the Class of ’82, is launching her debut poetry collection this August!

After retiring from teaching four years ago, Gillian turned her focus to writing – and her powerful collection has just been published by Cinnamon Press. The poems give vivid glimpses of life growing up in 1970s Derry/Londonderry, before leaping forward fifty years to reflect on life now.

Her first book launch will take place at New Gate Arts & Culture Centre on Wednesday 6th August at 6.30pm – and you’re warmly invited! It’s free but ticketed, and already 65 tickets have been snapped up – so grab one of the remaining places soon via the New Gate website or through Gillian’s own page: gillmbarr.wixsite.com/gillbarr (click on Events).
