Four weeks after my baby girl was born healthy and happy, I started to realize I was not okay. I cried day and night, didn’t want to go out, and couldn’t think or do much. I had postpartum depression, and even though I was physically fine and my baby girl was healthy, my mind was in a dark place. It was awful! My friends and family were there to support me and helped me see the light. After 8 intense weeks, I finally started enjoying motherhood again. Now, I look back and think of that song by Karol G: ‘Mientras me curo del cora’. So, I want you to listen to that song and sing it really loud. It’s okay not to feel okay, it’s not a crime. Don’t worry, tomorrow will be better. Cuatro semanas después de que mi bebé naciera sana y feliz, empecé a darme cuenta de que no estaba bien. Lloraba día y noche, no quería salir y no podía pensar ni hacer mucho. Tenía depresión posparto, y aunque físicamente estaba bien y mi bebé estaba sana, mi mente estaba en un lugar oscuro. Fue horrible! Mis amigos y mi familia estuvieron allí para apoyarme y me ayudaron a ver la luz. Después de 8 semanas intensas, finalmente comencé a disfrutar de la maternidad otra vez. Ahora, miro atrás y pienso en esa canción de Karol G: ‘Mientras me curo del cora’. Quiero que escuches esa canción y la cantes bien fuerte. Está bien no sentirse bien, no es un delito.
