International Yoga Day is a week away. 🥳 🎥This year I will be streaming a guided Common Yoga Protocol practice - a one-hour Yoga session devised by various renowned Indian Yoga teachers/institutions (among them also the KYM, where I studied) and is practiced by thousands of Yoga lovers, Yoga schools, etc on IDY in India and world-wide. 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻🧘🏾♂️This year's theme is 🌟 'be with Yoga be at home'🌟. Much like last year, there won't be any mass gatherings of Yoga enthusiasts on the day, but people are encouraged to practice online in their homes. 🏠
I hope you can join me. Yoga has everything to become a unifying world culture one day. Join the movement! 🌍
P.S.: I am also offering a free Zoom class this coming Sunday at 11 AM London time. Register via my bio. Thank you!!

What a gorgeous day in the neighbourhood😍!! I feel inspired to share this with you. Sundays are for Yoga and farmer’s market. It’s not only more sustainable but much more personal and real to buy produce like this. It’s the next best thing if you don’t have a garden👩🌾 and live in a city. I always draw some cash out (they prefer cash at the market), and go and greet the people that sell the produce. It’s all part of a natural way to build a relationship not only with growers but also with the food you buy. The Earth dimension of our being is called ‘annamaya kosha’ in Sanskrit - meaning that which is nourished by food. We don’t eat, we are nourished by what we eat. Eating is a sacred act. We are multi-dimensional beings that thrive in sacredness of life. Some food for thought next time you go the the supermarket.. How drastically different is that experience, how devoid of sacredness it is..🌱.

🌞A smile is an expression of our true nature. Yoga helps us remember who we truly are. Each has to find this truth for themselves. May you find it, and may you smile. My warmest wishes to you on this Christmas Eve. 🌲

🐚The artist in residence writes
About the stream of his life
Its source, its river, its ocean, its drop
Handing himself into the hands of god
Lord Shiva guide him always
For he needs you more than sleep’🐚
✍️Something I wrote back in 2013 in India, when I began with my yoga journey...
❣️There is a very important concept concept in yoga, called ‘isvara pranidhana’, which is about total surrender to the divine. All is Self. 🌪Whenever I find myself in a difficult situation, I always remember, something powerful has my back, I will get through this. 🧘♀️The divine aspect of Lord Shiva, the ascetic god, has been an underlying force that kept me starting over again and again, before I even came to yoga. I understand what is like to be alone, when your closest people and family are against you. I understand what is like to be homeless. I understand what is like to be abused. I understand what it means to leave everything behind. I understand what is like to be poor. I understand what it means to be afraid. 😇I have always been guided by higher force. Yoga helped me see my greatest sufferings as events that were never meant to keep me down, but were there to wake me up to the reality of what it means to be truly alive. I wear it as boon. 💛
