This young man has overcome multiple barriers to fulfil his dream of reading architecture at UCL: first the Ofqual, A Level Exam Grading fiasco of 2020, and after then the Teachers' Predicted grades.

We will be exploring the potential long-term impact of Covid-19 on the education and future prospects of a generation. Not only that, we will be identifying the role of our community in mitigating the negative outcomes strategically.

This is set to be a rich, informative conference with amazing speakers.
The Student Success Formula Summer Summit 2020 will explore the topic “Breaking barriers of inequality within the UK education system” and we will identify strategies that parents and students can use to overcome educational inequalities affecting students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We will:
•Have a panel discussion involving teachers, academics, doctors, students and an education & parent coach;
•Listen to inspiring case studies;
•Engage in a thought-provoking Q&A session
This is one conference with three sessions.
We will discuss a variety of sub-topics whilst addressing the overarching topic of educational inequality.
Session One – 5pm-6pm:
•Racial and socio-economic inequalities in education and attainment gaps
•Social mobility and university access
•Representation and access of black people in education and academia
Session Two – 6pm-7pm:
•The impact of the Covid-19 lockdown on students from disadvantaged backgrounds
•Failures in the handling of the 2020 A Level and GCSE results
Session Three – 7pm-8pm:
•Study skills and Learning techniques
•Academic achievement in science and STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)
•Representation and access of black people in academia, scientific research, and STEM careers.
This event is aimed at:
•Parents of students aged 10-19;
•Students aged 14-19; and
•Stakeholders in education such as teachers, headteachers and assistant headteachers, community groups and community leaders working with young people etc.
