Long pose drawing classes start in September. It’s a great chance to draw a sustained pose and there are two classes, one for figure drawing and the other for portraits. will be tutoring the class so guidance will always be at hand. All levels welcome!
More sneak peeks into a Saturday Studio session at Wurkshop. Classes for kids who are serious about their art and want to explore different techniques, concepts and artists in a grown up studio environment.
Remembering some of the amazing treehouse models produced by students earlier this summer (I have a lot of content to post because I’ve been so appalling at posting recently 😂) at one of our architecture classes for young students with Suzi Lee from . Students made detailed scale plans, concept boards, materials boards and models. Their imaginations and ability to fit a brief constantly amaze me! Young designers!
Taking bookings for next term!
Flashback to our summer exhibition at Wurkshop, ‘Being human’. For which, students who attend our Artwurk and Studio sessions classes made artwork in response to the theme.
It’s an amazing showcase of the type of thing students produce in their classes here. The ages ranged from 7-14. Well done everyone!
And a reminder that we are taking bookings for next term!
From January we will be running two long pose life drawing classes from a week from the Wurkshop studio!
I can’t move on from the spooky just yet… these are two wonderful pieces from our Wurkshop ‘Being Human’ exhibition in the summer (I’ll reveal more of that later… incredible students making amazing work) but these two were just perfect for this season…
On Tuesday February 20th we are holding a Wurkshop open evening so please do pop into the studios to say hi and meet us. You’ll be able to see and try various techniques so it’s a great chance to see what you might like to sign up to. You can meet our practitioners- Mark Cockram (print and book arts), Hayley Steedman (fine art), Gwen McCann (visible mending) and Toby steedman (ceramics) and have a chat and a glass of wine!
A peek through the doors of Wurkshop to catch Roger McGough in action at a poetry Wurkshop a few years ago. Imagine sitting there yourself with a chance for self expression, and guidance from Roger. Poetry can be a private escape for you to write and let go. We all need some places like that! It’s fun too, which always helps. We are taking bookings now for the next class on our website.
I’ve been having a wonderful time at Wurkshop in the last couple of weeks, as we opened our doors for evening classes at Wurkshop again. The club night this week was Charcoal portraits and though initially people felt intimidated by the technique, we broke down the work into stages and there were some great drawings made! The intro to Lino printing also kicked off with some wonderful prints of undersea creatures and abstracted water. There’s lots coming up on our website, including more print and even poetry with Roger McGough!
Very proud to announce that the famous poet, Roger McGough is returning to the Wurkshop studio this February to hold a poetry Wurkshop. This is such a special opportunity to write alongside Roger, with his help and guidance, in a very small class and relaxed setting. All details on our website!
