London People's Orchestra was formed on 28 April 2011. We wanted somewhere for local musicians to come and enjoy playing together, without the pressure and minimum standard often required by other amateur classical ensembles. In September 2012, we moved to our current HQ at Oakwood Baptist Church in Southgate, London N14. This was so we could provide excellent transport access for our players, being just a short walk from Oakwood Underground Station on the Piccadilly Line. The main thing to say is that we are not high brow, we are inclusive and it's okay to make mistakes at London People's Orchestra - that's the way we learn. New players sometimes find themselves sitting with a novice on one side and a seasoned professional musician on the other. Everyone is friendly and encouraging and that's the way we like it. If you enjoy playing a varied mix of music and you want to learn and develop, whatever your starting point, we would love to be able to help you through London People's Orchestra. London People's Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings during academic term time between 8.00pm and 10.00pm at Oakwood Baptist Church, Merrivale, Southgate, London N14 4TE.
