I don’t think I’ve ever trained as much as I am now.
15 sessions or so a week.
Up from 6.
And with that .. I also don’t think I’ve enjoyed my training as much either.
Apart from when you very first start and you get those insane newbie gains.
Funny that isn’t it?
It’s a different type of ‘enjoyment’ though.
It’s not going to the pub with your mates fun.
Or weaving through the rush hour traffic on the back of a moto in Medellin.
It’s different.
During the session, whatever it may be. Weights, swimming, stairmaster, 10k run at 5am ..
It’s not enjoyable .. strictly speaking.
Basically wanting to throw the towel in every 10 minutes or just skip the session all together.
Because it’s painful, uncomfortable & you’re tired.
But when you zoom out and look at what you’re doing overall, post session, or even just planning out what you’ll do for the upcoming week.
That feeling is unbeatable.
Knowing you’re working hard towards something.
So, maybe the secret is that if you really dislike training, do more of it 😂

Ultra marathon soon come⛰️🥵
Instead of investing £200 a month into the S&P500 .. just spend that money on carb gels instead 🤡
I get that doing things ‘like a professional athlete’ sounds cool .. but it’s not really going to help 43 year old Craig from finance who is averaging 1.3 training sessions a week over the year 🤷♂️

Being real here 😨
I’m finding it difficult to tell whether I’ve been losing muscle since doing more endurance training..
Or if I’m doing enough to just maintain the muscle I already have..
Guaranteed I’m not building any, that’s for sure 😂
But how can you really know?
I guess you don’t in the short term, because you’re just going off training performance, how you look, scale weight etc.
All those things can fluctuate massively depending on literally anything.
How well you slept the night before
How hard I swam that one morning
What time of day I’m doing my weight sessions
Only medium to long term, you’d really get some sort of idea.
Maintain strength = probably kept muscle
Noticeably weaker across the board = it’s going / gone
Until then, it’s cranking out all the triathlon / ultra marathon training + 5/6 weight sessions a week + basically eating everything / anything I can get my hands on.
*except for maybe 1st gen Jack3d 😂
