Our Year 2 pupils were busy becoming superheroes as part of one of their early Talk for Writing lessons!
Talk for Writing is a creative approach that helps children learn the patterns and structure of stories before using these skills to write their own. Through drama, discussion and imaginative activities, pupils develop their vocabulary, confidence and love of writing in a fun and engaging way.
By creating and wearing their own superhero masks, the children were able to immerse themselves in storytelling, using their imaginations to explore characters, develop ideas and build confidence in speaking and writing! ππ«

From ISA competitions and House football to cross country, tag rugby and our recent Sports Day, our pupils have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, determination and outstanding teamwork.
We couldn't be prouder of every child who stepped onto the pitch, track or field this year. Whether representing the school, cheering on friends or simply giving their best, they've shown resilience, sportsmanship and the true St James spirit.
A huge well done to all our pupils and thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive families for another unforgettable year of sport. Here's to even more sporting success next year! ππ

Last month, members of our Prep staff volunteered with Under One Sky to help support people experiencing homelessness in and around Waterloo. It was especially meaningful to see the sandwiches prepared each week by our pupils being shared with those who needed them most.
We're incredibly proud of our pupils for their continued support of this important community partnership and the positive impact they're making beyond the school gates π
