The new term is nearly upon us. Year 4 and 5 English and Maths classes commence from Monday 11th September. Classes are 1 hour long and cost £15 per class. Each class accommodates a maximum of six children to ensure each child receives dedicated support.

Wednesday 4:15 - 5:15 (year 5 English)
Saturday 9:15 - 10-15 (year 4 English)
Saturday 10:30 - 11:30 (year 4 Maths)

GCSE English Language and Literature Group Tuition.
With changes to the GCSE curriculum, it is important that parents and their children are confident approaching examination time. At Klaidy Tuition, we are now introducing Group Tuition for GCSE English Language and Literature. As different exam boards and schools choose different set texts, we offer 4 week courses dedicated to one set text from the curriculum. Therefore depending on your children's school curriculum, they only need to attend the courses that are relevant to their GCSE course. English Language is taught separately and starts in September at the start of year 10 and runs from September to July. In year 11, students will continue to study English Language termly until the February half term. This allows the students to practice time papers until their exams in May/June. We encourage parents to register their child from year 10 so they can build the foundations required for the more intense and challenging courses in English Literature which begins in Year 11.
We are currently taking bookings for the year 4 Foundation Course which begins in September 2017. To register your interest, you can either message me via Facebook or by email: [email protected].
Year 4 Foundation Course
As the year 5 syllabus covers a lot of topics, many parents are wanting their child to start tutoring before they begin year 5. At Klaidy Tuition, we offer children the opportunity to develop their core skills in English, Creative Writing and Verbal Reasoning in a safe and supportive environment before embarking on the more challenging year 5 syllabus. State school children are less familiar with challenging English comprehensions and may therefore benefit from the year 4 foundation course.
At Klaidy Tuition we strongly believe in the benefits of small group tutoring. Group tuition is more cost effective for parents, and provides a learning environment similar to that of classroom based learning in which the children are accustomed to. As a result, children find it less intimidating. A group setting enables us to incorporate games and activities into the syllabus adding an element of fun and healthy competition. This model is successful and supports research that learning alongside peers aids understanding. Our structured syllabus enables children to develop their confidence in a supportive setting, introducing timed papers at the end of each half term to consolidate their learning. We offer 1-2-1 tuition on a case by case basis if this is preferred over group sessions. However, we do encourage parents to try the group tutoring initially before choosing 1-2-1 tuition.
Group Sizes.
At Klaidy Tuition, we aim to make the groups as small as possible and try to avoid changes to the group mid-term so tat the children can build friendships and develop their confidence. Groups generally have between 4 and 6 pupils, with no more than 8 pupils. Where possible we try and have an even number of pupils in each class so they can benefit from paired learning during our interactive games and activities.
Fees
Our group sessions last for 1.5 hours. Group Tuition is £20 per hour so is £30.00 for a 1.5 hour session. Materials are charged at cost price and will be no more than £20 a term. All parents are advised of the cost of materials prior to registration so there are no surprises! This covers the cost of materials such as educational games packs, worksheets and student progression folders. Fees are billed on a termly basis. Fees can be paid upfront at the beginning of each term of split into two payments; first payment due at the beginning of term and the second payment due six weeks later.
