It’s been a long week working at the womens refuge. These women and children flee domestic violence. They leave everything behind them to seek refuge in a new town, to start a new life away from their violent perpetrators. 7,9 % of women suffer domestic violence yearly in the uk. These women have a life, a story and an ambition to live and survive. They strive for a better life away from fear and violence.
Today we finished a hard week by making pasta arrabiata, focaccia bread and ”mocca rutor” (swedish brownies). It was two and a half hours of escaping the hardship and reality these women and children go through. We had a great time 😀. You never know what somebody has gone through so always approach a new person with a loving heart and an open mind.

POSITIVE PARENTING isn’t about sticking to the traditional colours on your painting pallet. It’s about mixing the colours, blending them and finding new shades and using new colours. Corral, neon, ivory, blush, peach, mulberry, indigo, sage, mocha, graphite, coal.... You get the gist....!
It’s about thinking outside the box and finding new positive and funcional ways to approach your child and yourself. It’s about your own self talk, it’s about your priorities, it’s about your values and it’s about the language you use interacting with your child and what you want to emphasize on in your message to your child.
Keep positive and strive to become the best parent you can be 🌈

As the kids are back at school we might have time to reflect on our lives, our own approach to our kids or perhaps feel that it was hard to spend time with the children over the family holiday and wish for a change.

Happy Birthday. You are such bubbly, energetic, smart, confident, strong and empathetic girls. I’m so proud of the girls you’ve become. Hope your 12th bday was what you wanted it to be. Love you lots and lots. Sorry you guys can’t have your own birthday and always have to share experinences and things when most people get it all for them selves. I hope Inmake you feel like you are special to us in your own individual ways. I don’t know what it’s like to be a twin but by looking at you guys I think it’s pretty special 👭You are best friends and sisters before anything. Crayfish with the Little crew. 🦞
The boys came back to help us close up and get us home. It’s always a hard time for me to leave Finland and this year I got my boys to back me up 😍 We spent the evening in true Swedish speaking Finn way having a sauna, swimming and teaching the kids singing snaps songs and eating crayfish and enjoying being a family again. Family means the world whatever shape or form it comes in 💚
