Fresh air, movement and exploration are an important part of childhood. 🌱 Outdoor play is high on the agenda within our nursery, giving children opportunities to explore their surroundings and enjoy active experiences alongside their indoor learning. As children grow in confidence and independence, having space to investigate and play helps keep every day varied and engaging.

Thursday mornings give children another opportunity to get active with our regular football classes. ⚽ These sessions add variety to the week while giving children an enjoyable way to move, participate and experience physical activity. We believe nursery life should offer plenty of opportunities for children to learn, play and be active.

Wednesday mornings bring opportunities for children to connect with nature through our regular Forest School classes. 🌿 Outdoor experiences can encourage curiosity, exploration and the confidence to discover the world from a different perspective. It is another way we make learning varied, engaging and full of opportunities for children to explore.

πŸŒžπŸŒ‘ Look Up! The Solar Eclipse Is Coming πŸŒ‘πŸŒž

Today, a spectacular partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK. It’s a fantastic opportunity to introduce children to the wonders of space and talk about the Sun, Moon and Earth! 🌍✨

If you're planning to watch the eclipse together as a family, please remember that looking directly at the Sun can cause serious and permanent eye damage, even during an eclipse.

πŸ‘€ How to watch safely:
β˜€οΈ Never look directly at the Sun without appropriate solar protection.
πŸ•ΆοΈ If using eclipse glasses, make sure they are specifically designed for solar viewing and meet the ISO 12312-2 safety standard. Regular sunglasses are not safe.
πŸ” Never look at the Sun through ordinary binoculars or a telescope without a proper solar filter.
πŸ“„ A pinhole projector is another safe way for children to experience the eclipse without looking directly at the Sun.
πŸ“Ί Alternatively, watch a live stream together, such as the Royal Observatory Greenwich's eclipse broadcast.

Why not turn it into a learning opportunity? Talk to your little ones about what an eclipse is, draw pictures of the Sun and Moon, or make your own simple pinhole projector together!
Let's enjoy this incredible natural phenomenon safely and make some magical memories along the way. πŸŒ™βœ¨
