🎶 Welcome back to the Autumn Term everyone!

📯 And a special mention to The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School’s new Music Captain and JMS Music pupil Hani Singha.

🎹 Hani is an A-Level Music Student currently working towards her ABRSM Grade 8 Piano. She’ll also be taking part in local music festivals this year performing exciting new repertoire from Scarlatti, Rachmaninov and more!

Congratulations to JMS Music student Sophie Oztoprak, who won the Piano Solo Performance Class at the Stratford & East London Music Festival for Grades 7&8 and was awarded the highest distinction mark.

Sophie performed “Pierette air de ballet” by Chaminade, a piece from her ABRSM Grade 8 Piano repertoire ~ and shall be taking her Grade 8 Piano Exam later this term.

Her performance was credited by the adjudicator as having “so much to enjoy” ☺️ What a lovely, fantastically-deserved comment ☺️

🎹 We had some students making their debut for the first time performing in public & students returning to the festival for higher and advanced classes.

👍 So proud of you all and well done for all your hard work - thank you sharing your fantastic music playing & singing! 🎶

🎉 Congratulations to JMS Music pupil Rachel Tesi, who won the ensemble prize at The Brentwood School House Music Competition.

🎸 Rachel co-arranged and conducted a medley of Queen’s greatest hits. Complete with sunglasses & Brian May wigs, they rocked out their performance…and WON! 😃

👏 Huge congratulations to Rachel for all her hard word and all the ensemble players who performed brilliantly

🎉 JMS Music also has congratulations to fellow student Sam Pepper, who’s unaccompanied vocal group performance of “What a Wonderful World” won the Part Song prize 👏
