Drool Creative Community is a new, safe space for creatives, freelance designers and small studios. Built by Graphic Designer and Central Saint Martins graduate Victoria Reis, .design Drool Creative Community is a tool to support creatives who spend so much of their time being creative for clients rather than for themselves. There’s a free Dischord community, as well as a paid members space which provides access to online and in-person events, as well as tools for client feedback, quotes, briefs and a personalised client portal.

Victoria is also the President of the Enterprising Alumni Network, is a dynamic group of graduates who are leading the way in the creative industries.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1997 as womenswear designer, Anne Bernecker worked internationally in the fashion industry for 15 years with stints at Versace and Temperley London. During that time, she sampled a lot, produced a lot and wasted a lot of materials and resources. So, when she decided to start her own brand, she wanted to "reuse, reinvent revive", creating a brand with a slow couture ethos at its core.

She initially started her eponymous brand in 2015, before fully taking the plunge in 2021 after moving to Berlin. Every style of the collection is based on a vintage garment that already has a story to tell. “I am giving it another lease of life”, explains Anna, “by altering them or adding high-end, hand-embroidered embellishments. Each garment is unisex and one-of-a-kind, as vintage garments all vary a little in shape, fit, material and pattern. Also, each style and its particular embroidery is limited, adding to the uniqueness of the collection.”

We recently caught up with London College of Communication alumnus Francisco Cortés to discuss his recent achievements, including taking home First Prize at the HISENSE x VIDAA Art Competition and earning a spot on the World Illustration Awards 2026 longlist.

“One teaching from my tutor stayed with me. She spoke about the artist's role not as taking inspiration from others working with the same ideas, but as joining a bigger conversation, one that keeps growing and taking shape through your contribution to it. That metaphor helped me mature my own voice and understand what I could offer from my own perspective.”

Moubani Roy Choudhury is a multidisciplinary UX designer and writer who graduated in 2023 from College of Communication with an MA in User Experience Design. In her work, Moubani combines creativity, empathy and inclusion; she’s the author of 6 bilingual Bengali-English children's books that celebrate multilingualism, cultural identity and representation, to help children feel seen and connected.

Moubani has recently joined the UAL Alumni of Colour Association (AoCA) committee, our alumni network helping alumni of colour thrive in the creative industries.

We spoke to Moubani about her passion for culturally authentic storytelling, and how she was inspired by her own dual-heritage family, as well as what she hopes to bring to the AoCA. Head to the link in our bio to read the interview 🔗

Internationally renowned sculptor, Sokari Douglas Camp , creates her works primarily in steel. Her often large-scale sculptures make frequent reference to her Nigerian roots, while at the same time encompassing contemporary international issues. Sokari graduated from BA Fine Art at Central School of Art and Design (now Central Saint Martins ) and has gone on to have more than 40 solo shows worldwide.

“Central was pivotal in forming me as an artist. The head of the sculpture department was very discerning, and our technician was very supportive. Central encouraged me to speak for myself, find myself . But my inspiration was not in Holborn or in the West. I was inspired by festivals in Rivers State Nigeria. My tutors didn't mind.”

Sokari works intuitively and on her own, drawing on a wide range of inspirations, including movement, clothing, Kalabari culture, theatre and the environment.

Her public artworks include 'Battle Bus: Living Memorial for Ken Saro‐Wiwa' (2006), a full-scale replica of a Nigerian steel bus, which stands as a monument to the late Niger Delta activist and writer. Battle Bus travelled to Nigeria as part of Action Saro–Wiwa, a campaign to clean up the Niger Delta. Battle Bus was impounded by Lagos Port authority when it arrived in Summer 2015.

‘All the World is Now Richer’ is a memorial to commemorate the abolition of slavery. It was exhibited in The House of Commons in 2012, and in 2014 at St Paul’s Cathedral. The works is currently being proposed for a permanent site in London; “I am in the process of raising funds to install my permanent memorial to the abolition of slavery in Burgess Park, South East London”.

She shared some inspiring advice for aspiring artists:
“Be Honest, Be Brave. Intuition should be sustained”.

Unza Saleem is a South Asian artist working with narratives deeply rooted in her personal memories, experiences, and emotions. She's a graduate from in 2023, with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art: Painting.

In her work, Unza explores moments in time that resonate with her and explores the depth in each emotion. Her artwork is a compelling exploration of the diaspora experience, particularly within the South Asian community. Her pieces often reflect the nuanced experiences of displacement, identity, and belonging, resonating with those who find themselves navigating multiple cultural identities.

Earlier this year, Unza was featured on the BBC’s ‘Extraordinary Portraits with Bill Bailey’. The programme sees musician, comedian and art-lover Bill Bailey match ordinary people with extraordinary stories with some of the country’s most talented portrait artists. Bill picked Unza to create a lasting legacy for 2 brothers who watched their mum lose her life at a young age to a rare form of dementia. This was followed, years later by the discovery that they also carry the faulty gene. Filmmaker Konstantinos Menelaou’s work explores themes of memory, identity, queerness and popular culture, often blurring the boundaries between past and present.

A graduate of MA Fine Art programme in 2009, his work is defined by curiosity and a desire to reimagine familiar narratives. During his MA, Konstantinos he “never felt restricted and that openness eventually became an important part of my practice as a filmmaker. Looking back, it wasn’t about acquiring technical skills, but more about learning how to trust my instincts and develop a critical relationship with my work.

He’s often drawn to overlooked figures and misunderstood cultural images, like in his latest project ‘Female’, a cinematic reimagining of Aliki Vougiouklaki, an iconic figure in Greek popular culture. Talking about the film he says, “rather than making a conventional biography, I wanted to create a dialogue with her image and legacy. What interested me most was the gap between the public icon and the many possibilities hidden beneath that image. The film moves between reality and fiction, archive and imagination, asking not only who Aliki was, but who she could have been and what she can still mean today.

Since completing her BA (Hons) in Painting from in 2005, Imogen Paton’s work has evolved across mediums and causes; from large-scale portraits and sculptural projects made from household waste to founding initiatives focused on community support and wellbeing.

During lockdown, she began creating and selling wall-mounted animal heads made entirely from non-recyclable plastic household waste. The waste sculptures went on to be featured in Westminster Abbey and appeared on a television programme by Grayson Perry, culminating in a display at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.

She’s also the founder of , which is a card deck designed to help people explore topics around pregnancy, birth, postpartum and emotional wellbeing, in an accessible and empowering way. At its core are “about improving the way we support people through major life transitions — especially experiences that can feel isolating, medicalised or fragmented.”

The cards were created in response to her own experiences of feeling “unsupported, uninformed and overwhelmed during pregnancy, birth and early motherhood, and recognising how many other people felt the same… a big part of the mission is inclusivity - creating tools and spaces that feel supportive, non-judgemental and accessible to people from different backgrounds and experiences.”

As a business owner, she also has some insightful advice for anyone wanting to start their own business:

💥Start before you feel fully ready.
💥 Don’t underestimate the value of your lived experience.
💥 Build genuine relationships and community around your work.
💥 Be willing to ask for help and learn new skills.
💥 And most importantly, create something you genuinely care about, because passion and purpose are what carry you through the difficult stages.
💥Success rarely happens overnight, but consistency, authenticity and resilience make a huge difference over time.

Amayo Duke is a multidisciplinary creative and storyteller from Nigeria with a background in filmmaking and entrepreneurship. A 2024 graduate of 's MA Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Amayo’s work explores how storytelling and craft can create immersive ways of engaging with culture and history.

Her project Community (pictured) is a 20-piece crochet puzzle which was the unexpected result of the research Amayo did for her dissertation. “Coming off all the research … I had all these ideas around educating through interactivity and that's largely how the piece was born. I unearthed all this research that said how important interactivity is to retain information and I wanted to explore that theory with live, in-person experiences.”

The puzzle is her “attempt to reimagine culture in a modern context through play”. It’s also her chance to explore the importance of cultural storytelling and reconnect younger generations with Nigerian culture; “Cultural storytelling is a form of education that is sorely missing from contemporary Nigeria” says Amayo, “we don't know our own history largely due to colonisation and that means that a lot of our culture is either demonised or left behind. Culture, good or bad is always made in community and I hope through my pieces, I can build a path for re-imagination and reconnection in younger generations.”

"Given my background, I never thought that being an artist was doable. It takes some hard graft, and lots of plate-spinning, for sure, but it’s possible. Anyone should feel that they can be an artist, and this is, ultimately, one of the key ideas I’m trying to fight for through my work."
