"We'll just wait and see how they do in the mocks..."
It's something I hear from parents every year.
And I completely understand why.
But here's the reality...
By the time November mock results arrive, your child has already completed the first term of Year 11.
If they're still struggling with key topics from Year 10, those gaps don't disappear—they usually get bigger as new content is added.
That's why I always encourage parents to be proactive rather than reactive.
The students who make the biggest improvements are rarely the ones who suddenly start working harder after their mocks.
They're the ones who identify the problem early and put a plan in place before it affects their confidence.
If your child is starting Year 11 this September and maths is already a concern, now is the best time to act.
