📢 Update for students enrolled in (or considering) weekend-only study programmes

We’ve recently been made aware of a growing number of cases where students have experienced interruptions to their Student Finance payments.

After further clarification, this appears to be linked to a recent policy update. Under the new guidelines, courses delivered solely on weekends may now be categorised as distance learning. As a result, they may no longer qualify for standard student funding, unless supported by specific medical circumstances.

⚠️ Key points to be aware of:
• Student Finance payments could be paused or withdrawn automatically
• This decision is determined at a government level—not by universities or education providers
• The changes were introduced with little to no prior communication
