On 21 September 2026, we celebrated the National Literacy Trust Wall Art winners - Our Lady & St Joseph Primary School.

This wonderful school won the prize through their participation in the National Year of Reading Go All In campaign. And we donated the bespoke, literacy Wall Art project.

The Wall Art launch began with a speech from Ellie Prince, Headteacher at Our Lady & St Joseph Primary. She talked to the pupils about why they won the Wall Art prize and shared her pride at their active participation in the National Year of Reading; Go All In Campaign.

Then, Andrew Ettinger, Director of Education at the National Literacy Trust, congratulated the pupils. He explained why the National Literacy Trust is celebrating a National Year of Reading and how the Go All In campaign is encouraging children across the UK to discover stories in everyday activities.

Lisa Savage, Promote Your School's Director was up next. As a former teacher, Lisa enjoyed the chance to chat to pupils in a school setting. She encouraged them to look closely at the Wall Art designs and discover all the hidden treasures that aren't immediately visible on first glance. Lisa also explained that each visual prompt can spark pupils' imaginations and curiosity. Then, she suggested pupils put their creative ideas to paper and use them as the basis for storywriting.

Finally, another really special moment. Children's author Tọlá Okogwu kept the children enthralled as she walked them through her journey from childhood to becoming an author. She discussed what inspires her to write her books and how her family plays a big part in the process. Pupils participated with genuine enthusiasm and excitement as Tọlá helped them create their own story, using the Wall Art as a prompt. It was a hugely enjoyable part of the day, with one pupil exclaiming; "this is the best day of my life!".

The extra explanation that suddenly makes it click.
The familiar face when a pupil needs reassurance.
Or the patience, humour and kindness that helps them keep going.

Teaching Assistants are behind so many of the moments that make a real difference in school — often without getting the recognition they deserve.

The countdown is on for Education Estates at Manchester Central this October!

Education Estates brings together professionals from across the sector, with a conference, exhibition and awards programme focused on the design, build, maintenance and management of educational spaces.

Just ONE WEEK TO GO till the BBC 500 Words Competition opens for entries!

500 Words is the UK's largest story-writing competition for 5-11 year-olds. This year, entries open from Tuesday 29 September and will close at 9pm, Friday 6 November.

The competition celebrates children's creativity and imagination, encouraging young writers from across the UK to create an original story in 500 words or fewer.

There are two age categories: 5-7 and 8-11 year-olds.

Spelling, punctuation and grammar are not marked - as has always been the case for 500 Words, it's all about our writers' brilliant creativity!

This year, the celebrity judges include Malorie Blackman, Charlie Higson, Francesca Simon, Sir Lenny Henry, Frank Cottrell-Boyce and Rose Ayling-Ellis.

The bronze, silver and gold winners in each age category will be revealed by the BBC in early March 2027. The winners will also have their stories read out by celebrities on the BBC.

We're delighted to have partnered with the National Literacy Trust to support their National Year of Reading Go All In 2026 campaign!

We donated a literacy Wall Art prize to NLT, which they offered as an incentive to schools. Every school that completed the relevant Spring Term reflections before the end of April entered a random prize draw. And, at the end of April, the National Literacy Trust selected a winning school at random…

Our Lady and St. Joseph Primary School were the lucky winners! They won a bespoke Wall Art project, designed by us. The prize also included printing and installation.

The Hello Yellow resources are free, made with young people in mind, and created to help a teacher start the conversation.
