This course will focus on the fundamentals from major and minor chords,
the pentatonic scale, blues licks and riffs. Take a look at David's video for a further insight into what will be covered.

IGF's Young Artist Platform aims to help guitarists in the critical phase between the final stages of music education and the concert platform.

Applications are now open for the IGF Young Artist Platform 2025-26.
*
Here are some of the YAP concerts we've held this year, including:
Luke Bartlett at Kings Place
Luke Tyrrell at Hexham Abbey
Duo Cantelina at Swansea Grand Theatre

Applications are open to classical guitarists up to and including 30 years of age. We accept applications from sololists and from ensembles which include guitar.

IGF YAP is a UK based scheme, so applicants must be based in the UK at the time of application and throughout the 2025-25 season.

We are very excited to present Samuel Moore as flamenco tutor at our annual Bath Summer School this August!

When not on tour or recording, Samuel enjoys passing on his musical knowledge through teaching. He is the author of the ‘Flamenco Guitar Compás Essentials’ book series.

Samuel learnt his craft as a one-to-one student of the world renowned flamenco guitarists: Juan MartÃn, Grisha Goryachev and Dennis Koster. He has also attended workshops led by Paco Peña. Samuel is an alumnus of Leeds Conservatoire, class of 2013.

The course runs from the 12th - 16th of August and is open to guitarists with roughly 2 years experience in any style. You do not need any flamenco experience.

IGF Guitar Summit is back at Kings Place for three days of concerts, workshops, and masterclasses with the world’s greatest guitarists! We welcome the return of the world’s foremost classical guitarist David Russell and the extraordinary gypsy jazz guitarist Stochelo Rosenberg with his quartet, featuring star guitarist Paulus Schäfer.

Our BIG SUMMER NIGHT OF THE GUITAR has two parts: we start with a mass performance by the brilliant young players of Haringey Guitars – our outreach partner in North London schools – second up are the amazing roots singer and guitarist Holly Carter and fusion rock guitarist Antra Lante from our La Leona, women and the guitar project.

There are also lunchtime concerts by extraordinarily talented young classical guitarists on our Young Artist Platform.

New music is one of IGF’s key objective and this festival presents world premieres of new commissions by superbly talented young composers Leila Arafah, Ashkan Layegh and Kristina Arakelyan, as well as an existing IGF commission by David John Roche.
