My talk today was about presentations and demonstrations. In a way in applies to every hypnotist or hypnotherapist; your entire session is an experiential presentation and demonstration. However you can also reach others by talking to individuals and groups.

I have included photos of my handout.

My talk covered the 3Ps - preparation, presentation and post-presentation and I used my HYPNODEMO model to explain in detail how to excel.

Key points:
Habits and qualities of a great presenter = conduct a presentation audit (skills, knowledge, opprtunities) and address performance anxiety (those present had a group hypnosis anchoring session).

Your experience and knowledge = what makes you unique and what teaching tales you can offer

Preparing your presentation = different approaches for moving and static audience types, using media, venue factors and maximising impact

Never don't rehearse = why rehearse, sections, dress rehearsal and teddy bears

Outstanding communication skills = using hypnotic and clean language

Demonstration time = why it is esential to demo. Engaging the audience. 121 or group demo pros and cons. What to demo (tests, quick inductions, easy phenomena) and what to avoid (therapy).

Experience of audience = giving the group something, such as suggestibilty test to all before a demo. I demonstrated (thanks Ryan) my no-fail version of steel arm and broke down all the secret parts that make it 'no-fail'.

Making it memorable = the importance of first impressions, using the stage, interacting with people, use of voice (including the 'cow hum') body language and how to ask and answer questions.

Finally...
Optimising, upsellimg and self-promotion = having something free to give, something to buy, and a clear call to action that is time limited. Also, the benefits of feedback and reflection.

Amazingly, I just managed to cram it all in. Massive thanks to everyone who came.

Interesting photographic carpet in my 'classroom' today for my Confidence Hypno-Coach workshop.... Good thing no one has a snake phobia. Would be amazingly useful perhaps though for a snake phobia class.

The James Braid Society is going back to real, in-person meetings in London and guess who is their first guest speaker… I am going to be talking about ‘Promoting the Expert Hypnotist’.
