Today the children have been getting their bake on, baking oat biscuits following instructions and a recipe.
They were able to explore the ingredients, using their senses of smell, touch and taste as well as developing their physical skills and gross motor skills as they mixed all the ingredients together using a large mixing spoons.
The children were able to develop their communication skills as they learned new words and was encouraged to repeat single words and phrases.

Preschool have been practising and developing their phonics today in the woodlands, playing a game with letter cards.
Each child took turns to find a chosen card, they then had to identify the letter, objects that begin with their chosen letter and then use the drawing pads to write the letter.
The children were able to use their phonic knowledge to identify the letters and their sound in a fun and exciting way.

This weeks theme of the week has been "My Family". 👨‍👩‍👦👩‍👧‍👧👩‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

The children have been discussing their families and sharing similarities and differences between them. They then extended this by creating their own family photo frames, using lollysticks to create the frame in which they then painted their family members inside.
They had so much fun talking about their families and sharing experiences with their peers and carers.
One child said "I have a big sister and a mum" another child said "i don't have a sister or brother but I have a cousin".

Today we have been busy learning all about the 'Great Fire of London'. 🔥🚒

The children was able to explore this event through role play, exploring fire role play equipment, using single words and sounds such as "nee-naw" as well as trying on the hats and clothing. They also explored the fire engines, moving these across the fire stations as well as using their hands to explore the materials to represent the fires.
Some children in preschool were very inquisitive and wanted to learn more about this, so they watched a short clip on the preschool computer and then drew their own interpretations of this.
One child said, "i know all about the great fire of London, i have a book on this!".

To celebrate “eat outside day” we enjoyed a picnic all together, however as London weather is very unpredictable we brought the picnic inside!
Babies and Teenies shared their picnic & Toddlers and preschool shared theirs!
The children enjoyed a special picnic tea, sharing stories and making memories together!

🏴☠ This weeks theme is Pirates week! ☠🏴
Today, Toddlers enjoyed a lovely trip to our local shopping centre! They had so much fun playing in the sandpit. They used their gross motor skills to dig, scoop and explore with all the fun toys provided.
The children used their wonderful imaginations as they role-played with their peers and searched for hidden treasures! This encouraged communication and team work. After their busy adventure, they took some time to sit back and relax on the deck chairs. It was a fun-filled outing that everyone enjoyed! 🏖🏖

🍋A Thermomix Treat! 🍋
Today, we welcomed a lovely Thermomix expert into the nursery for a special demonstration with some of our parents and children.

She showed us how to use the Thermomix and explained the many delicious things it can make, including soups, ice cream and so much more! The children then joined in with a fun demonstration, they weighed out the ingredients and helped to make fresh lemonade for everyone to taste.

It was a wonderful, hands-on experience, and the lemonade went down a treat! A big thank you to our visitors and to the parents who joined us. 💛🍋

See it, sound it out, write it...

This week Preschool have been developing their phonic knowledge using their interactive phonic's board, blending CVC words. The children took turns to pick an object (see it), sound it out by finding the correct letters to spell the word of the object using their knowledge and understanding of jolly phonics and then write it using white board markers, creating the letter shapes.

The children showed great attention and focus and cheered each other on as they completed their word.
