To help you plan your journey to the studio, during our busy end of term week with Watching Days and Exams, we wanted to share the latest on the proposed Tube strikes.
Dates to keep in mind:
✨ 24-25 March (12:00 Midday to 12:00 Midday)
✨ 26-27 March (12:00 Midday to 12:00 Midday)
We understand that travel disruptions can be a bit of a headache, especially when you're balancing the school run and dropping off for rehearsals. While things may change, it’s a good idea to leave a little earlier than usual if possible.
Our teachers will also be dashing from one work place to another but will do their absolute best to be there on time

I can honestly say that we're the luckiest teachers in the world to be teaching the most happy, hard working, bubbliest, and committed pupils we could ever ask for. ✨
In the next couple of weeks, Miss Angelina has set up a few free additional classes to support our gorgeous pupils with their exam preparation. When we turn up on Sundays, all giving it our very best, it makes me feel that every pupil has already passed the exam.
The journey, the work, and the dedication are enough: Exam Day is just the finale. Keep it up, dancers! I am in admiration of all the hard work you are putting in. 🩰💫

It’s been one of Miss Angelina’s busiest terms yet: from Cecchetti Southern Awards rehearsals and competition days to preparing for our upcoming exams on 28th March. But amidst the whirl of the studio, she found the absolute joy of returning to the stage herself.
Last night, Miss Angelina performed with the incredible Stopgap Dance Guildford Youth Company at Lift Off in Bracknell. Stepping back into the spotlight after 25 years was a truly special experience, especially alongside such a talented and inclusive group of young dancers aged 16–30.
There’s a unique magic to being on stage. Even with an audience right there, the lights shine so brightly that they create a world of their own. It feels like dancing like no one can see you: just you and the movement. Getting back in touch with that feeling is so important; it helps us as teachers connect with the very heart of what we share with our pupils every day.
That passion for dance never leaves you, and we hope our pupils will carry their wonderful dancing experiences with them for a lifetime. 🌟🩰

A massive well done to one of our incredibly dedicated dancers and her teacher, Miss Sara!
Despite the challenges of school, exams, and the wonders of growing up for our young dancers these days, this young lady has consistently turned up to every lesson with a commitment to work hard. We were all absolutely delighted to see her go home with the Molly Caulder Shield at the Cecchetti Southern Area Awards for the second year running.
When her name was called out, it really made our hearts shine. The pressure of following up on a previous win is always great, but her dedication was clear for all to see and this award was very much deserved.
We are so grateful to Judith Wilson for selecting her for this special award. It’s a wonderful recognition of her growth, artistry, and the hard work she puts in at the studio.
Thank you once again to the organisers, of the Cecchetti Southern Area Awards , Amy Heather, Hayley Cheneler, Sandra Powell for providing such a wonderful performance platform for our young people!

What a truly wonderful weekend for our CWS Dance family! We are bursting with pride as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our dedicated pupils at the Cecchetti Southern Area Awards last Saturday.
Seeing our dancers show such grace and artistry on stage was a real joy for us all. Our hard-working pupils came home with some fantastic results:
✨ 1 First Place
✨ 2 Commendations
✨ The Vacani Award for Joy of Dance (Lower Middle section)
✨ The Molly Caulder Shield for Joy of Dance (Upper Middle section)
A huge thank you to the organisers for providing such a wonderful opportunity to perform, and to the adjudicators, Judith Wilson and Gillian Toogood, for their helpful and encouraging feedback to all the competitors.
Miss Angelina also wants to say a massive thank you to our wonderful parents for your endless support during the school run and beyond, and to Miss Sara for the extra rehearsals as we learned the work.
Well done to every single dancer who took part. Your dedication and growth are so inspiring! 🩰✨

At CWS Dance, we believe that dance is one of the most beautiful ways to tell a story. 📖🩰
We are so excited to begin our new theme for the second half of the Spring Term: a Deep Sea Adventure! Miss Angelina and Snowball the dancing cat are hopping on board Captain Barnacles’ submarine to explore the wonders under the sea.
Throughout the term, Miss Angelina's little dancers will use movement to bring this tale to life. From meeting mermen and mermaids rescuing clams and pearls from crafty crabs, to dancing with a troupe of happy lobsters, the journey is full of magic. We’ll even meet an extremely distinguished seahorse who leads us to the home of a curious little sea slug: the only one who knows the secret trick to navigating through the octopus ink trail!
By connecting movement with these imaginative worlds, our dancers learn to interpret music with heart and artistry!
We can't wait to welcome our explorers back to the studio. Let the adventure begin! 🌊🦀

Behind every beautiful piece of choreography is a story waiting to be told. 📖✨
With World Book Day approaching next week, we’ve been thinking about how much our dancers’ journeys are fuelled by the stories they read. Whether it’s an adventurous tale or a classic fable, books are the spark that feeds creativity and imagination in the studio.
When a dancer understands a narrative, it changes the way they hear the music and how they move. It’s no longer just a series of steps at the barre or a sequence in the centre; it becomes an expression of character and emotion. That’s where true artistry begins.
In ballet class, we love seeing how those imaginary worlds help them find their own sense of belonging, creativity, expression, self confidence and grace in the Dance Studio.
Books and storytelling play such an important part in a dancer's journey, helping them to interpret music with depth and heart. Is your dancer dressing up next week? We’d love to hear which characters are inspiring their creativity lately! 👇

Welcome back to the studio for an exciting second half of the Spring Term! 🩰✨
Very much looking forward to seeing our dancers back at the barre. We have a busy and inspiring few weeks ahead, with pupils participating in the Cecchetti Southern Area Awards this Saturday, and lots of rehearsals scheduled for our forthcoming ballet exams on 28th March.
To our parents and guardians: thank you for the dedication it takes to get your dancers to class. From the school runs, the dashing to class, and all the hanging around, we are enormously grateful for your fabulous support and input.
We’re focused on helping every student find their grace and confidence as they prepare for these milestones. Whether they’re polishing their technique for exam or preparing for the stage (this Saturday), we’re here to support their journey every step of the way.
Let’s make this a brilliant second half of the term!
