Welcome to Our Settling-In Week! 🧸✨

Starting pre-school after the summer holidays is a big step — for little ones and for parents, too!

To help everyone ease back into the routine smoothly, our first week back is our Free Settling-In Week.

This week is all about building confidence and getting comfy:

💛 Key Workers & Friends: Meeting (or catching up with!) key workers and friends
🧸 Play Areas: Exploring our play areas at their own pace
🎨 Gentle Sessions: Short, gentle sessions to build trust and routine

Whether your child is returning or taking their very first steps into pre-school, we’re here to make sure they feel safe, happy and loved.

Welcome Back to a New Term! 🎒✨

We hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer filled with rest, play, and fun adventures!

We are so excited to welcome back all our returning families and extend a huge, warm welcome to all the new little faces joining us for the very first time.

📅 Start Date: Monday, 7th September

Our team has been busy getting everything ready for a fantastic term packed full of learning, laughter, creative play, and new discoveries.

Rest up over the weekend, get those bags packed, and get ready for an amazing term ahead. We can’t wait to see all your smiling faces on Monday morning! ❤️

🚒 Community Event for Families – Essex Fire Museum Open Day
If you’re looking for a fun weekend outing, the Essex Fire Museum is holding a Family Open Day at Grays Fire Station this Sunday, 30th August.

Children can enjoy:
• Museum trails
• Arts & crafts
• Fire safety room
• Old fire engines
• Water‑sq**rting fun

It’s a great day out for under‑5s, school‑age children, and parents too.
Entry is free, but you’ll need to book ahead as the museum is located on a working fire station.

🎶 Kitchen Band
Pots, spoons, shakers and rhythms. Children love making music and exploring sound.

Summer holidays are full of mini‑adventures — even the shortest trips can turn into wonderful learning opportunities for little ones.

🚂 Train Spotting
Visit a local station and count trains, colours or destinations. It’s brilliant for early maths, observation skills and building curiosity about the world.

🛝 Park Challenge Cards
Create simple challenges such as:

* Slide two times
* Jump off a step
* Find something yellow
* Balance on a beam

These quick tasks keep children active, focused and excited to explore.

🛒 Shopping Helper
Give your child a simple picture list and let them find the items. It’s great for independence, vocabulary and confidence.

Water play is always a summer favourite — it’s cooling, calming, and packed with stealth learning opportunities for little ones.

Here are 4 simple water play ideas to try this week:

🫧 Toy Wash Station
Bubbles, brushes, and lots of scrubbing! Perfect for fine motor skills, coordination, and pretend play.

💧 Scooping & Pouring
Grab some bowls, cups, spoons, and jugs! A fun way for children to explore volume, heavy vs. light, and early maths concepts.

🧊 Ice Rescue
Freeze small toys in ice blocks and let children "rescue" them using sq**rt bottles or warm water. A great hands-on lesson in problem-solving and temperature.
