๐จโ๐ซ๐๐ฉบ What are aliphatic, alicyclic and aromatic hydrocarbons ? An aliphatic compound contains carbon and hydrogen joined together in straight chains, branched chains or non-aromatic rings. An aliphatic compound arranged in non-aromatic rings with or without side chains is known as alicyclic compound. A compound containing a benzene ring is known as aromatic compound. ๐๐งช๐จโ๐ซ

๐จโ๐ซ๐๐ฌA-level Biology: - The proton pumps in the cell surface membrane actively transport H+ ions out of the guard cell. The low H+ ion concentration and negative charge inside the cell causes the potassium ion channels to open. The potassium ions diffuse into the guard cell. The high concentration of potassium ions inside the guard cell lowers the water potential. Water moves into the cytoplasm of the guard cell by osmosis, down the water potential gradient. The entry of water increases the volume of the guard cells and the cells expand. The thin outer layer expands the most and cells curve apart. ๐จโ๐ซ๐๐ฉบ
