This month’s Hello Baby Meet-Up will take place at The Heathcote and Star this Friday 27th May 12-3. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this month (my daughter’s school sprung a last minute Jubilee / dress up / outdoor concert / picnic on us, which my hugely patriotic, royalist 6 year old insists CANNOT BE MISSED; FYI on the menu is “crown jewel pizza” which I shouldn’t find as amusing as I do).
ANYWAY, I was going to reschedule but decided my absence shouldn’t stop you from having a good time. So bring your babies and bigger kids down to The Heathcote and start your weekend in the right way i.e. jiggling your baby around whilst chatting to other parents who are jiggling THEIR babies around, all whilst drinking / eating something delicious (🤞in the ☀️). Open to anyone with a baby in the area, no need to have taken my classes. Look out for anyone coming alone (that’s usually my job) and make sure you say hello!
Have a lovely time and see you next month.

I’m not one to blow my own trumpet (*absolute lies* 💁🏼♀️) but: did you know, about 90% of Hello Baby bookings are recommendations from friends?! It is a regular (and lovely) occurrence to read on booking emails such things as “I’ve been following you since before I was pregnant,” “my mates have told me I have to do Hello Baby,” “I did Hello Baby with my first and now I’m expecting my second”…!
Why do I think you lovely folk recommend Hello Baby (and do correct me if I’m wrong!)?
🍪Great snacks (some of them home made and absolutely guaranteed (*again, absolute lies*) to get you into labour / increase your milk production).
💩Great chat. We literally cover poo (mum’s, baby’s, anyone’s really…), vaginal mucous, blood - sometimes all within the same sentence.
🍻Fun in the pub. You can literally have a beer at lunchtime with your new friends. Best thing ever.
❤️Oh, AND: loads of practical tips for birth and parenting, honest information that prepares you for the realities of baby-producing (not just the idyllic stuff!), as much follow up support as you need from me, and a support network for life.
Now taking bookings for my standard antenatal course (perfect for first timers, second timers also welcome) on 9th and 16th July (for babies due August to mid-October) and for my Second Baby course on 20th August (for babies due September - November). Follow the link in my bio to book, or DM me to get the ball rolling.

Happy international day of the midwife everyone! Today was a great day - got to spend my day with these two lovely midwives, it wasn’t too manic and I was gifted THREE NEW PENS (swipe right, literally every healthcare professional’s dream), a delicious cupcake, and a special pin for services during the pandemic ❤️ It’s a tough job sometimes, but it’s also incredible. I love what I do, and it’s nice to have a day where you feel appreciated. Big up all my incredible colleagues ❤️

Look at these fresh, beautiful faces! Proof - I think - that when you have a young baby (all of these 4-12 weeks I think!) you can FEEL pretty ancient, but in reality you have a youthful glow about you…! Anyway… we’re not really here to comment on how people look 😬 THANKS for coming down to April’s . It was lovely to catch up with people on such topics as feeding, tongue tie, labour, morning sickness, pelvic pain, difficulty conceiving, bank holiday plans, best baby activities, holiday plans and more besides…! See you next time, when hopefully it’ll be a bit less FREEZING. Next meet-up 28th May ❤️

This Friday is the last of the month, which means it’s time for the Hello Baby Meet-Up!
Bring your babies, make some mates, eat some nice food, start your Bank Hol in the right way 🎉
No need to have taken a HB course, it’s free and everyone is welcome!
See you at . Indoors if it’s grim, outdoors if it’s not 🌤⛅️🌧

Are you anxious about how your birth is going to go now you’re expecting another baby?! How you’re going to organise childcare for your first when baby could come any time from 37 to 42 weeks 🤪?! Are you wondering how on earth to keep your firstborn happy when there’s a tiny new sheriff in town? Wish you could meet a local parent tribe like you did first time around, so you can share the rollercoaster ride?
You’re not the only one!
On Sat 7th May - by popular demand - I’m hosting Hello Baby’s very first Second Baby Antenatal Course at The Heathcote and Star 10.30-14.30. I’ll cover everything you need to know (or forgot you knew) about birth and parenting, and there will be a chance to have lunch with your new pals. Plus there will be all the usual WhatsApp groups, follow up support and access to a wealth of helpful HB resources. You’re v welcome if this is your 3rd or more baba too…!

“Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow jumping over the moon…”
If you know, you know. In fact if you’re any thing like our household you’ll know Goodnight Moon so well that you have absolutely no need to locate the book at sleepy time. My basic calculations suggest that we’ve recited it more than 3000 times over the years. Every nap time. Every bed time. My biggest was old enough to read it herself when she stopped having it at bedtime.
For those of you who don’t know: it’s a classic, lyrical, slightly bonkers bedtime book. It’s great as part of a repetitive, predictable routine, so that your little ones (hopefully!) catch on that it’s time to go to sleep. We probably started introducing it around 2-3 months when we noticed our kiddos had more predictable bed and nap times. We used it along with other sleepy cues… B**b, bath, massage, PJs, sleepy sac, dark room, white noise, Goodnight Moon and zzzzzzzzzzzzz. (Your routine might look different obviously and that’s just fine…!) 😴

Top time teaching the March 22 HB crew over the last few weeks. They ate all my lactation cookies (swipe right!). And all the chocolate eggs. Wishing them all the best as they start to welcome their summer babies 👶🏻☀️👶🏾☀️👶🏼☀️ It was a pleasure!
Still a couple of spaces on my May course 14th & 28th for babies due June to mid-Aug. Link to book in my bio or DM me here! 😘

For all the wiping, food / health / dr / admin organising, kissing, consoling, negotiating, bum cleaning, cooking, bill-paying, reading, shhhing, shouting (😜), singing, playing, bathing, party / present planning, laundering, folding, working, calling, cuddling, chiding, teaching, facetiming, nurturing, meter-reading, juggling* - I salute you ❤️
(*and often all of the above before 9am 😬)
Happy Mother’s Day to us lucky lunatics ❤️

Thanks for coming to yesterday’s HB meet up! I loved that we had a range of folks down: teeniest baby LESS than a week (properly ovary-twanging, I must say), toddler mayhem from the epic November 2020 lockdown crew ( and Co, I’m looking at you!), and a few Hello Baby alumni along with their second babes ( 🙌). And that sunshine ☀️ See you again next month!

This Friday 25th March 12-3… Come on down for the March Hello Baby Meet-Up! Looks like the weather is going to be fine, so meet in the garden if you fancy, or there’s plenty of space indoors too if you prefer the shade.
As ever this is for anyone and everyone, no need to have attended HB classes before (although if you have I’d LOVE to see you!). Free to attend and a super way to meet other parents.
See you there ❤️
