🎉 Free activities for families! From 15th to 17th September, we have a wide range of activities on the FRO Festival programme. One of these is: Founders and Authors at Five.

A few of our invited guests are shown here and there will be opportunities to buy books and have books signed on Wednesday 16th September, at 5pm. Laura Henry-Allain MBE, Creator of JoJo and Gran Gran, will be signing books at 5pm on Wednesday 16th September.

Lauryn Rose Teixeira, 13, is an award-winning young author, activist, public speaker, kidpreneur and Editor-in-Chief of Unsung Magazine, of Cabo Verdean and São Toméan heritage. She is the author of Lauryn That’s Me: The Journey of a Powerful African Girl, a multilingual book published in English, Portuguese, French and Spanish, and is a passionate advocate for representation, literacy and empowering Black children to see themselves reflected in books and media.
is a World Afro Day Ambassador.

Maya Komolafe is an aspiring commercial pilot, children’s author, podcaster, public speaker, content creator and advocate for diversity in aviation. At 18, Maya published her debut children’s book, , to inspire more girls to consider careers in aviation while using the proceeds to help fund her own journey towards becoming a commercial airline pilot.

Cassidy Brianna Bridges is a vibrant nine‑year‑old Model, Actor, Author, Host, Activist, and Social Media Influencer. She began her journey at just two years old, but it was her iconic moment at age four — proudly celebrating her natural hair and declaring, “Thank you, it’s an Afro” — that captured hearts worldwide.

💜🪮 FROBELLES ARE HOSTING THEIR AFTER SCHOOL CLUB AS PART OF THE WORLD AFRO DAY CELEBRATIONS!

The Frobelles After School Club is a ticketed event. Visit Eventbrite to find out more and book your place.

There is also FREE access to the World Afro Day street celebrations at Coal Drops Yard, King's Cross where families can enjoy the atmosphere, watch the Community Catwalk shows and be part of our 10th anniversary celebrations.

Please note: While access to the street and some activities is free, selected workshops and special events require a paid ticket. Please check the event guide and Eventbrite before attending.
