We are a friendly, caring preschool that caters for children from 2 to 5 years old. We operate on Mondays & Wednesdays from 9.00am to 12.45pm and on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 9.00am to 3.45pm. Our setting enjoys a the luxury of a large, light and airy hall. We have a secure outdoor area which children

have free access to and offer a different range of activities every session. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage criteria to ensure every child reaches their full potential. We have fun packed sessions and no day is ever the same! Each day we offer a different adult led craft activity following the theme of the week. Children participate in fun cooking activities, we set up a new role play area every week and ensure our children get the most out of every session by learning hrough play whilst growing in both confidence and ability. What sets us aside from the rest? St Albans Pre-School is not only a great place for the children but the staff love it too! We have a very low turnover of staff and all our staff are experienced and fully qualified. We are a registered charity that has a strong emphasis in creating a positive partnership between parents and teachers. We have a long staying place in the community and the pre-school saw it’s 50th anniversary in 2014. We have excellent links with the local schools, particularly St John Fisher and Longfields, and put in place transition activities during the summer term to help children settle easily into school. We are registered to receive both 15 or 30 hours government funding. We welcome 2 year old children after their 2nd birthday (funding subject to government criteria) We also accept childcare vouchers. It is with heavy hearts we bring the unfortunate news that St Albans Pre-school is no longer able to continue after this term.

We have tried to find a sustainable way to resume after the summer break, but sadly it is simply not possible. And it is only fair to our parents and children that we do this now, to minimise the disruption to their early years learning journey.

After 60 years, we are devastated that our pre-school should end this way, but we are very proud to have served our community with such distinction for such a long time.

Thank you to the parents, children, staff and committee, past and present, for showing your faith in our pre-school. We've had a great run, but alas, after almost 60 years, our time has come.

We are celebrating 60 years of St Albans Pre School and would love past and present families to join us for an afternoon of fun and sharing memories with a picnic at West Harrow Park on Wednesday 3rd July from 3.30pm.

Our topic this week was ‘People Who Help Us’. We have been talking and learning about these important service these people provide within our community.
We would especially like to thank Harrow Fire Brigade for taking time out of their busy day to visit us. The children had a great experience.

The children were very busy during for our Numbers and Sequencing week. Whether playing at the school role play area, engaging in water play, taking part in various craft activities or making sandwiches at snack time, the children embraced having fun whilst learning through play.

St Albans Pre-School is very excited to be celebrating our 60th anniversary this year!🎉
We have proudly provided an Early Years provision within the Parish premises for 60 years, starting as a mother’s union playgroup in 1964 before formally registering with Ofsted.
If you would like to be part of our lovely community, please join us for our open morning on the Friday 10th May from 9.30am - 12.30pm.
