Musical Miniatures (0-4yr olds) interactive, CV secure sessions full of music & fun. Musical Giants
Musical Miniatures - Our specialist Early Years programme Musical Miniatures, now in its 5th year, is packed full of music and fun. Jenny brings her specialist knowledge and understanding of young children and their development, integrating this into engaging, fun, and exciting music classes. She teaches a mixture of familiar and new songs, using a range of props including musical instruments, pup
pets, chiffon scarves and parachutes. Jenny also performs live on a range of instruments and provides opportunities to dance and move with your little ones. Our classes offer a wide range of learning opportunities for babies and children focusing primarily on your child’s musical development, whilst also supporting, the development of language, numerical skills, physical development, social skills etc. The material used is designed to stretch the minds of 0-5 year olds, but I hope you’ll have some fun along the way too. Musical Giants - Launched in Sept 2021, Musical Giants sessions concentrate on initial musical development, working imaginatively with pulse, rhythm and pitch using both Kodály and Dalcoze methodology. The teaching is designed to make learning fun within a structured environment. The first two years of Musical Giants work well as a precursor to learning an instrument, laying excellent musical foundations. There is no audition procedure and no prior musical training is necessary. Musical Giants is for children aged 4-6 to attend without their parents. I often feel like learning an instrument at too young an age is a bit like teaching a child to ride a bike before they can walk. Why not enable your child to learn about the building blocks of music (pulse, rhythm, pitch etc) and also how to read and notate music before having to learn all the technicalities of the actual instrument? Let’s grow their musical roots before we plant the tree on top. Musical Giants Home Ed - Introducing our new Musical Giants classes for Home Educated Children aged 4-7 years, and their younger siblings starting January 2022. Unlike our other Musical Giants classes, younger siblings will be invited to join us in the sessions meaning all parents will be asked to remain in the building with their children. Class content will be tailored based on the age range of the families who sign up, ensuring children’s individual needs are met. Developing your child’s music education with us will provide a social element to learning, help to strengthen family connections learning altogether, give you access to an excellent music education all within a supportive, non-coercive, flexible environment. MMOnline - Launched in Sept 2020, MMOnline has evolved from being a lockdown class replacement to an excellent educational music resource that you can tap into anywhere, anytime. For the monthly price of a coffee and cake, MMOnline supports families in a range of ways, it’s for adults looking to support children with their Early Years Music development, families who have moved away and miss our class, families who attend our classes and want to sing the songs at home with more confidence, families who have recently introduced a new sibling and are looking for something fun and educational to do with their little ones in the comfort of their own home. The material found on MMOnline aims to establish confidence in both the adult and child to lay strong foundations in a child’s Musical learning, whilst also being great fun! Our Guide - Being in the privileged position of knowing lots of local families, ‘Our Guide‘ is a document that I have put together aimed at providing parents with information of local options for fun activities/days out. Be it visiting a beach on the Essex coast, looking for a local park/softplay, wanting some museum inspiration or looking for a seasonal activity, I hope you find ‘Our Guide‘ useful. It is a working document, so if you have any thoughts opinions of things I may have missed or ways to improve the document, then do get in touch - head to our website to download your copy (https://musicalminiatures.co.uk/our-guide/)

There’s something really special about baking with your children — it’s rarely perfect, often messy, but always full of little moments that matter. From sticky fingers and flour-dusted worktops to the proud smiles when something comes out of the oven, it’s as much about connection as it is about the food itself.
As my children have gotten a bit older, those moments have shifted in the best way. It’s no longer just about helping them stir or lick the bowl — now they’re genuinely capable, and eager to contribute in meaningful ways. My 10-year-old, for example, can cook a mean bolognese sauce, and she absolutely loves it. Not just the cooking itself, but the sense of purpose that comes with it.
What I love most is how she naturally steps in when she can see I’m a bit overrun — especially on those days when I’m run off my feet. There’s something incredibly heartwarming about watching her take initiative, knowing she’s not just learning a life skill, but also empathy, teamwork, and confidence. And honestly, it makes such a difference.
Baking and cooking together isn’t just about the end result — it’s about building independence, creating shared memories, and giving children a sense of belonging and contribution within the family. And sometimes, it’s also about getting a little help exactly when you need it most (and something yummy to share at the end).

Did you know your voice is your baby’s favourite sound?
Singing to your baby isn’t just lovely—it’s powerful. It helps build a deep emotional connection, supports language development, and even calms both of you down. Those simple lullabies and playful songs create moments of closeness that your little one carries with them as they grow.
And the best part? You don’t have to be a “good singer” – your baby already thinks you’re perfect.
At Musical Miniatures, we bring families together through music, giving you the confidence to sing, play, and connect in a joyful, supportive space. With live instruments, familiar songs, and a warm, personal touch, our classes are all about bonding through music.
Come and experience it together and if you enjoy singing and want something just for you, why not come along to too.

Just a little note to say I’m soaking up a full day of mum‑mode while the kids are on half-term. 💛
Everything will be running as normal tomorrow — but today is for cuddles, chaos, snacks, and all the beautiful bits of motherhood that go by far too quickly.
Here’s to celebrating the juggle, the joy, and the magic of being a mum. ✨

Getting outside with little ones is one of the simplest, happiest kinds of magic. There’s something about fresh air, muddy hands, and wide‑eyed curiosity that brings out the very best in childhood — and in us as parents too. 🌿✨
Whether you’re digging for worms, collecting sticks, spotting birds, or splashing through puddles, nature has a way of slowing everything down and opening up space for wonder. These tiny adventures build confidence, imagination, and a love for the world around them — all through play.
If you ever find yourself stuck for ideas (especially during half term!), our guide is packed with simple, joyful things to do throughout the year — from outdoor explorations to creative at‑home activities. It’s all about helping families make memories without the pressure (https://musicalminiatures.co.uk/our-guide/)
Here’s to muddy knees, wriggly worms, and the pure joy of exploring the world together. 💛
