We are delighted to share again the outstanding achievement of our doctoral researcher, Judith Hoppermann, this year's winner of the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation Emerging Scholar Award.
This HFG award seeks to support "research that investigates the basic mechanisms in the production of violence," with priority given to projects that "make a compelling case for the relevance of potential findings for policies intended to reduce these ills."
Judith's doctoral work, “Governing displacement, contesting the state: Armed transnational movements, refugees and political reordering in the Syrian Borderlands,” has been awarded a $25,000 stipend from HFG to support the writing up of her thesis.
