2026 is a record-breaking year for GCSE results at Beths Grammar School with 18.3% of all grades were 9 and 44% were grade 8 or 9. 64.2% of all grades also achieved the top 9-7, which is an increase of 5% on 2025.

Mr Blyghton, Headteacher, commented: "We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of all our students, and the excellent GCSE results they have achieved. Their success reflects the hard work and positive attitude they have demonstrated throughout their studies and the support of their families and teachers.

More than half of all A Level grades were awarded at A* to B, reflecting the hard work and dedication of the school’s post-16 students. Nine students have gone on to read medicine. Among the individual successes, one student achieved four A* grades and six students achieved three A* grades. Overall, 11 students secured two or more A* grades, with 34 students achieving at least one A*, demonstrating the strength of achievement across the cohort.

Students will be heading off to universities such as, University of Oxford, Imperial, UCL, Queen Mary’s University of London, Warwick University, University of Bristol, University of Birmingham, University of Southampton, Durham University, City St George’s, University of London, Aston University, to name but a few.

A number of students have successfully secured degree-level apprenticeships through the likes of Rolls Royce (manufacturing engineering & electronic engineering), Martin Arnold and Clancy's (quantity surveying), BA Systems (engineering & aerospace), Accenture and Gardiner & Theobald (consulting and project management), Affinia (trainee accountant), Simmons and Simmons (law), KPMG, JP Morgan and EY.

We are proud of all our students and wish them well with their next adventures.

A Level Spanish Students Bring El Laberinto del Fauno to Life!

In their final lesson of the year, our A Level Spanish students put their language skills to the test with a Monopoly-style game based on El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth). Through discussion, debate and strategic gameplay, students practised their speaking skills entirely in Spanish while revisiting the film’s key characters, themes and events. A fun and engaging way to end the year and prepare for future success in Spanish! 🇪🇸🎲👏
