🌿🚜 Learning Through Play! 🐞🛣️

Today our little explorers have been busy engaging in hands-on, open-ended learning experiences!

🚧 Our construction and messy play area encouraged children to build roads, transport materials, dig, scoop, pour and create their own imaginative worlds. These experiences support problem-solving, fine and gross motor development, teamwork and creativity.

🐞 We also explored our nature investigation station, where children became mini scientists! Using magnifying glasses, natural materials and insects, they observed, questioned and discovered the amazing world around them. This sparked curiosity, encouraged conversations about living things and helped develop observation skills.

At the heart of every activity is play where children learn, create, investigate and grow in confidence every day. 💚

⚽🏆 World Cup Maths Challenge! 🏆⚽

Today the children put their maths skills to the test with our exciting World Cup-themed challenge!

Using a dice, the children rolled and counted carefully before moving along the numbered footballs. They had to recognise numbers, count accurately, and work out how many spaces to move to reach the goal. The excitement built with every roll as they raced towards the finish and celebrated scoring a goal! 🎉🥅

Along the way, the children developed their number recognition, counting skills, turn-taking, and confidence with simple maths concepts, all through active, hands-on play. We also explored countries taking part in the World Cup, helping to spark conversations about the wider world around us. 🌍⚽

🚒🔥 What an exciting day at nursery! 🔥🚒

Today we had a visit to our local fire station! Along the way, we sang lots of our favourite songs, including Twinkle, Twinkle Traffic Light as we practised crossing the road safely🚦⭐

They had the opportunity to climb inside a real fire engine, learn about the important work firefighters do, and even try spraying the fire hose themselves! 💦👨‍🚒

It was a wonderful morning full of learning, adventure, and lots of smiles. A huge thank you to the amazing firefighters for making us feel so welcome and giving the children such a memorable experience!

We are very proud of how well the children walked, listened, and stayed safe throughout our outing. ❤️

🚦✨ Twinkle, Twinkle, Traffic Light! ✨🚦

Our children have been enjoying their new favourite song, Twinkle Twinkle Traffic Light, so we decided to bring it to life through a fun creative activity!

During the activity, we explored the importance of road safety and discussed what each traffic light colour means. The children confidently shared their knowledge by telling us that red means stop, amber means very slow, and green means go!

It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they sang along to the song and proudly showed off their finished traffic lights.

This activity helped them explore colours, develop their fine motor skills, and learn about road safety through play.

Well done, everyone! We had lots of fun singing and creating together. 🎶🚦❤️💛💚
