There are 733,000 unemployed young people

Young people need a better route to careers
-Fewer than half of British young people say that they had a good understanding of the routes into professions when choosing what to study. Schools need new approaches to engage young people with their futures
Schools are exam focussed and not developing work relevant skills in young people

Employers need skilled and motivated young employees
-40% of employers say that young people lack the skills necessary to fill entry level vacancies. One-third of employers never communicate with education providers; even though about 60per cent of young people say that on-the-job training and hands-on learning are most effective.

Elm Court students were inspired by a visit from Khamani Edwards, who shared his journey of living with dystonia, overcoming challenges, and building KJ’s Craft Time – creating inclusive, screen-free craft kits that help children develop fine motor skills, build confidence and enjoy hands-on creativity.

His story was a powerful reminder that your circumstances don’t define your future. After an engaging Q&A, our students celebrated completing the programme by receiving their certificates 🎉

Our Elm Court students recently spent the day at Raw Material, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the music industry.

They learnt about sync licensing, how producers can earn money from their music, and took on a real creative brief to produce a track for either Morley’s or Foot Locker.

The creativity and effort they put into their tracks was incredible, and they even had the chance to record their finished songs in the studio 👏

A huge thank you to for welcoming our students, sharing your knowledge, and giving them such an inspiring hands-on experience. We can’t wait to see where this experience takes them! 💙

Elm court students swapped the classroom for the kitchen. 👩‍🍳🍪

From cooking breakfast, roast chicken and chips to baking cookies, they learnt practical skills they’ll be able to use long after today. And yes… they even got to take their creations home!

A huge thank you to Liz for sharing her time, knowledge and patience with our young people.

Learning isn’t just about maths and English. It’s about building confidence, developing life skills and discovering what you’re capable of through real experiences.

Hear directly from last year’s Dimz. Inc Academy cohort!

Last year’s Dimz Inc. Academy gave young creatives real access to the industry.

In one intensive week, participants worked alongside industry professionals to develop, shoot and pitch their own original ideas, gaining hands-on experience in production, storytelling and creative collaboration.

Since the programme, alumni have progressed into opportunities with organisations including Google and Channel 4.
