✨🍞 This week, we’re baking Chelsea buns! 🍞✨

These delicious, sweet buns are flavoured with cinnamon, filled with butter and mixed spice, and to top everything off sprinkled with juicy sultanas, the perfect treat 😍

Our mini master chefs will be learning how to measure, knead, and prove their dough this week, and we can’t wait to see how they get on! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

🥧✨ Let’s roll! Time to use a rolling pin ✨🥧

A rolling pin helps us flatten and smooth our dough so it cooks evenly and looks just right 👌
Rolling also helps us shape our dough, whether we’re making pizza bases, pastry, or biscuits 🍕🥐

How to roll like a pro:
1️⃣ Sprinkle a little flour on the table
2️⃣ Press down gently and roll forwards and backwards
3️⃣ Turn your dough and roll again until it’s nice and flat

Remember no need to rush! Slow and steady rolling works best.

🍞✨ We’re back with bread again this week but this time it’s savoury! ✨🍞

Rosemary focaccia is on the menu, and we can honestly say… it’s delicious. 

Our after school mini master chefs will be learning all about kneading and proving dough, and discovering how yeast helps bread rise and become soft and fluffy 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

👩‍🍳✨ Let’s talk about kneading dough! ✨👨‍🍳

Kneading is when we push, fold, and squish the dough with our hands 🙌
We do this to help the dough become stretchy and strong, so our bread turns out soft and fluffy 🍞💛

 How to knead like a pro:
1️⃣ Push the dough away with your hands
2️⃣ Fold it back over itself
3️⃣ Turn it around and repeat!

Keep going until the dough feels smooth and springy. It’s a great arm workout too! 💪😄

🥒🍅 Come and make a delicious courgette & tomato tart with us! 🍅🥒

This recipe packs in two of your five a day, thanks to the courgettes and tomatoes, so you’ll be getting plenty of vitamins A & C too 💚

The best part? You can easily make it your own!
✨ Add different veggies
✨ Try alternative flours like spelt or rye flour
✨ Switch up the pesto. We think sun-dried tomato pesto would be amazing

From cheesy & savoury to sweet treats, we’ve got it all covered!

Every day, children will take home a bag full of delicious creations, the perfect mix of sweet and savoury treats!

👩‍🍳✨ Our Mini Master Chefs have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen this week! ✨👨‍🍳

Because it’s January, we’ve given our recipe a healthy twist, swapping out some of the cream cheese for Greek yoghurt. It keeps everything super creamy and just as delicious 😍
