Courtyard Nursery We will be closing our doors for the final time on 21st July 2023. At Courtyard Nursery we provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment.

We offer a wide range and variety of opportunities and activities to meet the emotional, creative, physical and educational needs of the pre-school child as recommended by Ofsted. The experiences and activities that children encounter in pre-school provide an essential foundation for later learning. We aim to develop social skills as children play together with the support of friendly adults - lea

rning to take turns, to share experiences and respect one another. Opportunities to select activities and discuss their choices help children to find independence and autonomy in their play and learning and ensure they reach their full potential. We work towards positive role models and promote self-worth and a positive self-image for all individuals regardless of s*x, race, class, culture, ability, religion and s*xuality. We also aim to address discriminatory behaviour and attitudes shown by both children and adults and to challenge stereotypes. During the session the children are constantly observed in order to assess their needs and development, building up confidence in their own capacity to enjoy learning. We promote parent/carer involvement at the school and hope you will spend a session with us each term if possible. A group in which parents are involved enables children to see their parents/carers as part of the world of education. Parents/carers are welcome to stay with their child during the settling in period. The school accepts children from the age of three. Priority is given to those on the waiting list and those in exceptional circumstances. No other criteria are taken into account. Courtyard Nursery is Ofsted inspected and our last report is available on request along with our policies. We are open term time only from 9.15-12.15

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce that Courtyard Nursery is closing on the 21st July 2023.
From Doris starting it in the 1960’s to the absolutely fabulous Julie Cooper taking over in 1969 and being the best headmistress ever to me starting in 1992, the lovely Suzanne and I taking over in 2015 and Tanya in 2018 being an incredible one to one, we have had the most amazing time.
On a personal level my 34 years have been extraordinary and I have loved teaching your children, seeing your families grow and then seeing you around Greenwich as teenagers and adults, in turn becoming friends.
We want to say a massive thank to everyone who has been to Courtyard or helped and supported us over the years. You have been so important to us and will never be forgotten. Xx
