Welcome back! We hope you’ve had a lovely half term and are ready to get back into the final few weeks of the school year!

The BFREE Value for this month is:
SELF BELIEF

We feel this is a very important value for everyone to live by especially the young people!

Always believe in yourself! 💫

RESPECT! 🤝

In our empowerment programme we cover respect massively and think it is one of the key values in life!

Swipe along to see some of the work our students have done this week while discussing this topic.

- ‘How can we show respect across these 4 environments?’

Coaches Quote! 💭

Coach Tom here with a fantastic quote!

‘Form is temporary, class is permanent’

A good quote he lives by day to day!

Hand shaking 🤝

Us humans have been shaking hands for over 3,000 years. It’s a sign of greeting someone, saying hello and showing respect to the other person.

If someone puts their hand out to shake your hand and you refuse it can sometimes be seen as rude and not respectful.

In this video you can see players making tackles, scoring goals and even making a substitute. All the players shake hands which can sometimes lead to a hugging celebration (after scoring a goal)!

Can you shake someone’s hand today?
How do you think it would make them feel?

Coaches Quote 💭

Here is another quote from one of our top coaches which Mickey lives by.

‘You get what you work for, not what you wish for’

This quote is saying that by sitting around wishing isn’t going to get you anywhere!! You need to work for what you want!

The picture in the bottom left is also showing the quote up and displayed in his school!

What’s your quote of the day?

Here is a powerful message which one of our staff found up on a wall in one of the schools we’re in.

We feel this is a strong message that all young people should see especially if they are feeling down.

‘You are STRONGER thank you seem, BRAVER than you believe, and SMARTER than you think you are.’

Players showing kindness! ☺️

Here is a clip of when Tottenham Hotpsur lost to Manchester City in a recent cup final ⚽️

In this clip you can see football player Son Heung-min feeling very emotional after his team lost in the cup final. The Manchester City players come over to him and try and comfort him, showing kindness to try and make him feel better.

This is a great thing to do as they could be celebrating and cheering but instead they were putting Son’s feelings first.

Always show an act of kindness when playing sports as you never know what the other players are feeling or thinking.

Can you remember a time you’ve shown an act of kindness?

🇧🇪🇵🇹
Here is a video of Belgium knocking out Portugal in the Euro’s. You can see from the video that Cristiano Ronaldo is devastated that his team have been knocked out!

When Belgium went on to play their next game against Russian, Romelu Lukaku scored a goal and dedicated his goal to Ronaldo saying ‘we love you’ to Ronaldo.

This is showing a great sign of respect to another player especially when they’re feeling very down about losing or being out of a huge cup!

Have a great day and remember to always show respect to everyone!

Marla Runyan 🏃‍♀️

Marla was diagnosed at the age of 9 with Stargardts disease (the leading cause of legal blindness in the U.S.). Marla became the first legally blind track and field athlete to compete and take part in the Olympic when she ran the 1.500m and 2000m in the Sydney games!

Even tho she was blind at the age of 9! That didn’t stop her from reaching her goals and competing in the world olympics even though she was blind!

Never give up on your dreams! ✨

Here is some of the work which one of our students done in our empowerment theory lesson!

The task was to write down a list of words that they could link to the word ‘Positivity’.

This is one of many tasks and discussions we have across our empowerment programme with our students!

We hope you have a positive rest of the week!! ⭐️

We should be spreading our kindness wherever we go!

You never know if someone’s going through a tough time or having a bad day, that little bit of kindness you give them might make their day or even make them feel alot better!

Have a great week everyone!
