NEW FREE Pilates class in Battersea
A new weekly class just off of Battersea Park Road in the DRCA Community Centre
Wednesdays 10-11am
These classes cater for all levels of fitness and suitable for all ages.
Join a fun, welcoming community and feel stronger while also reducing stress and anxiety.
Some of the benefits of Pilates
🍁 Improved posture: Pilates exercises promote proper skeletal alignment and strengthen the muscles responsible for good posture.
🍁 Improved flexibility: Doing the dynamic movements in Pilates, the muscles gently stretch and lengthen while also increasing the range of motion in the joints which ultimately boosts overall flexibility.
🍁 Increased strength: the structure of Pilates exercises ensures that a large number of the muscles in the body are targeted throughout the classes.
🍁 Enhanced core stability: one of the six Pilates principles is centring. It means that strength should be developed from the inside out and that every movement should begin from the core and flow outward to the limbs.
🍁 Increased mental fitness: two other principles of Pilates are breathing and concentration and they help to develop mental focus and fitness while doing the exercises.

Join me and Live Karma Yoga for an hour of yoga in Battersea on Thursdays (teaching alternate weeks with the wonderful ) and 30 minutes of mindful movement and meditation Battersea Park Library 12.30 on Fridays. In our busy lives, gratitude often gets overlooked. Instead of appreciating what one has, we focus on what we want. But did you know that you can increase your wellbeing and happiness purely by being grateful. It’s not just an action, but a positive emotion.
Take a moment to notice and acknowledge the things you’re grateful for today. A brief chat with a friend, a warm drink in your belly, a kind gesture from a stranger or a peaceful stroll in nature are things you can be thankful for. We can easily get caught up in the negativity - lingering on bad news/experiences that these moments of positivity fade into the background. Gratitude is something you can build upon, small practices each day, even on the bleakest of days.
