Frederick Bremer School is an 11-16 community school in Walthamstow. We are a non-selective school.

Frederick Bremer School has been established to develop the rich economic and enterprise heritage of this area of Walthamstow into the 21st Century. Our school is built on the former Hawker Siddeley site, which was a 9.5 acre industrial centre opened in 1919.

Following on from our shirt signing celebrations, yesterday evening our Year 11s traded their school uniforms to dress to impress at their Prom! It was an absolutely spectacular evening, and everyone looked incredible.

This event was a well-deserved celebration of all the immense hard work, dedication, and resilience our students have shown throughout their GCSEs. You have earned every bit of this celebration, Year 11!

A massive, thank you goes to Ms Daisley for her hard work in organising such a brilliant night. Thank you for making it an evening our students will never forget!

To our Class of 2026: have a wonderful, restful summer. We have never been prouder of you, and we look forward to welcoming you back for Results Day! ๐ŸŽ“

Over the last month, we have been saying goodbye to our wonderful Year 11 pupils. We wanted to share some moments from their final shirt signing dayโ€”a rite of passage for a group that has worked incredibly hard!

We are so proud of everything they have achieved during their time at Frederick Bremer. We are going to miss them immensely, but we look forward to seeing how well they do in the future and canโ€™t wait to celebrate with them on Results Day.

Stay tuned! In a few hours, we will be sharing the post youโ€™ve all been waiting for: the photos from our fantastic Prom yesterday evening!

Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Success!

Throughout May and the first week of June, our Year 9 and Year 10 students successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh practice and assessed expeditions. In total, Mr Brade, Ms Bonfield, and Mr Hogge accompanied two cohorts across four expeditions.

Every single group did a fantastic job. They worked brilliantly in their teams, navigated and orienteered expertly, and showed great respect for the environment around them.

Of course, a DofE expedition isn't complete without some unforgettable memories:

Our cohorts experienced completely different conditions. Whilst Cohort 1 showed excellent resilience trekking through particularly hot weather during both of their expeditions, Cohort 2 had to contend with persistent showers throughout both their practice and assessed expeditions.

The groups found some unusual things along the way, including a stray teddy bear that became an official group mascot and travelled with one of the teams for the full two days.

Downtime at the campsite was full of energy, featuring everything from dance and rap battles to games of hide-and-seek, Marco Polo, painting, and reading. Ms Piercey was hands down the winner of the Dance battle with her fantastic demo of "the worm"!

Our campers also learned first-hand that local foxes will definitely rummage through tents if food is left out!

Most importantly, our students showed incredible perseverance. Even when their backs, legs, and feet were aching, they kept pushing forward and supported one another to the finish line.

A massive congratulations to all the students involved. You did an absolutely fantastic job, and we are incredibly proud of you!

Today we celebrated Harmony Day it was a showcase of diversity at our school as students and staff embraced their heritage by wearing traditional attire and colours.
Donations were collected for , Unicef Middle East Crisis Appeal and students partook in the Bremer Bake Off Competition bringing in baked goods to sell at Breaktime. Our Head Students did a fantastic Job at running the Bakesale at Breaktime!

Message from Ms Smith:

"As we move towards the end of the Spring Term of the year at Frederick Bremer School, it is a time to reflect on our journey and our growth. Today is Harmony Day at the school, which is a week after Eid and a week before Easter. This is a special time when we reflect on our values and deeds, and think about how we support each other as well as those less fortunate than ourselves around the world.
On Harmony Day, we celebrate our culture and identity as well as uniting to support, through charitable donations, those who are less fortunate than ourselves. All the monies raised today will be donated to Unicef to support children in the Middle East affected by the war and conflict there.
As Rumi stated: "Let your kindness be like the rain. That cares not about whom it falls uponโ€
I wish everyone who will be celebrating Easter next weekend a very blessed Easter - and peace and happiness to everyone in our community."

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 13th April at 10.10am

Thank you for the amazing session today at your office in Liverpool Street. Students from Year 10 were invited as part of the Young Talent Programme application process.

Each student had prepared a presentation as part of their application to be apart of the programme and they presented to members of the Simmons and Simmons team.

They learned so many important skills and did a fantastic job despite their nerves! Well done!

Our Head Student campaign is a great opportunity for students to experience democracy in action. Through campaigning and voting, students develop confidence, communication, and leadership skills while sharing their ideas for improving our school.

Every student and teacher has a voice in the voting process, helping choose a representative who will speak on behalf of the student body. Weโ€™re proud of all the candidates for their effort, courage, and commitment to our school community.
