Following a child's interest in farm animals we created a tuff tray for all children to explore. We had great discussions about what animals live on the farm and the different crops that a farmer might grow and the different jobs they do. We had some great imagination from children sharing their ideas. The children decided to add diggers to the tray and extend this further with digging and exploring ways to transport the soil around.

We have been enjoying some arts and crafts. This child chose to do some sticking at the creation station and is using good hand eye co-ordination skills to use the glue spreader for her picture.

We have recently been discussing healthy eating and what we need to ensure we grow up big and strong. We looked at different fruit and vegetables we enjoy eating. We also played a game of matching the different fruits and vegetables together. Great communication skills here whilst chatting to our peers.

Moulding playdough is excellent for developing children’s fine motor skills. Children develop their finger muscles by moulding playdough with their hands to help gain proper finger control all before they can to begin to learn how to write.
Children mould, flatten, squish, pinch, break and roll the substance. To develop fine motor control with playdough even further, give your child extra utensils to play with such as cutters, a rolling pin or things to add to the playdough such as pipe cleaners or sticks and leaves.
