A little slower, a little less rushing and a lot more enjoying the simple things this Bank Holiday weekend.

Good food, family, dog walks, a glass of wine and absolutely no need to be productive.

And NO GUILT

Here’s to slowing down and enjoying where we are.

Cheers

As we creep towards the end of August, September can have that lovely “new notebook” feeling about it.

Fresh month. Fresh start. THIS is when I’m finally going to get my act together…

But if you’re a massage therapist, reflexologist or holistic therapist trying to grow your practice, I don’t want you to make September the month you suddenly try to become a completely different person.

Make it the month you start trusting the therapist you already are.

You don’t need to post every day.
You don’t need to suddenly become confident on camera.
You don’t need a perfect brand, thousands of followers or another qualification before you can start putting yourself out there.

Choose a few small intentions.

Talk about your treatments.
Tell people how you can help.
Connect with your local community.
Protect your time.
Charge properly for your skills.
And do one thing that feels a tiny bit uncomfortable.

Because confidence rarely arrives BEFORE you do the thing.

Sometimes you have to be nervous… and do it anyway.

What’s ONE intention you’re taking into September? Tell me below.. I’d love to hear it.

“The treatment’s not working…”

Also them at the weekend:..😆

No judgement here though ….life is for living.

Happy Bank Holiday weekend to all my fellow therapists… and may your clients enjoy their newly loosened shoulders responsibly 😂

Massage therapists, you don’t need to give a discount just because they’re a friend. Let me tell you why…

When you first qualify, friends and family are often the people who help you practise, build your confidence and get those all important treatment hours in.

But there comes a point when you’re no longer practising.

You’re running a business.

You’ve paid for your training.
You’ve invested in your products, equipment and insurance.
You’re giving your time, your energy and your expertise.

And friendship doesn’t make any of those things cheaper.

You can love your friends AND charge them properly.

In fact, the people who support your massage therapy business should want to see you succeed, not stay stuck charging “mates’ rates” forever.

And if saying your full price out loud still makes you squirm a little… that’s exactly the confidence stuff we talk about here.

Are you still giving friends and family a discount?
Be brave ..tell me in the comments. No judgement here!

If I could sit down with the newly qualified therapist I once was, I’d tell her this…

You don’t need to know everything before you begin.

You don’t need another qualification just because you’re worried you’re not quite “good enough” yet.

You don’t need to collect certificates like handbags 😆

You don’t need to look like you’ve got it all figured out.

And you definitely don’t need to wait until you feel confident.

I’d tell her there will be clients who make her day, mistakes she’ll cringe about years later, quiet weeks that make her question everything… and moments when she wonders what on earth she’s doing.

But I’d also tell her that one day she’ll look back and realise that every nervous little step mattered.

Because confidence didn’t come first.

Doing it came first.

And if I’ve learnt anything from all these years as a therapist, tutor and now coach, it’s this:

You can know your stuff and still doubt yourself.

You can feel nervous and still show up.

You can be scared of getting it wrong and still build something you’re incredibly proud of.

So if you’re at the beginning right now, wondering whether you’ve really got what it takes…

You don’t need to become a different woman first.

Start as you are.

Nervous. But ready

If this sounds familiar… you’re welcome here.

I’m going to be your biggest cheerleader.

You know what nervous system regulation means.

But does your client?

One of the biggest mistakes I see therapists make with their content is using the language they learnt during their training rather than the language their clients actually use.

Your client probably isn’t thinking:

“I need to regulate my nervous system.”

She’s thinking:

“I can’t switch off.”

“I feel on edge all the time.”

“I’m exhausted but my brain won’t stop.”

“Everything feels too much at the moment.”

“I just want to feel calmer.”

“I don’t feel like myself lately.”

That’s the language to use in your content.

Whether you’re a massage therapist, reflexologist, aromatherapist or holistic therapist, your potential clients need to recognise themselves in what you’re saying.

You don’t need to sound more knowledgeable.

You need to make her think:

“Oh my goodness… that’s exactly how I feel.”

That’s connection.

And connection builds trust.

If you’re a female holistic therapist who wants more confidence with visibility, social media, attracting clients and talking about your therapy business, that’s exactly what I help with.

Follow along…we’ll make showing up for your business feel a whole lot less scary

If you’re new here, hello I’m Mandy.

I’ve spent over 30 years in the complementary therapy world as a therapist, educator and business owner, including 12 years running my own therapy training school.

More recently, I qualified as a Women’s Therapeutic Life Coach and it felt like my two worlds finally came together.

Now I support female practitioners to build the confidence and self-belief to be seen, talk about what they do and grow a business they’re proud of.

I’m a big believer in women supporting women…there’s something pretty special about that energy.

Away from work, I’m married, mum to two grown-up children, black Lab mum to Bosco and a lover of dog walks, music, good food and wine.

If you’re building your confidence alongside your business, I think you’ll feel at home here 🫶

“I can fit you in at lunchtime.”
said the massage therapist who now doesn’t have a lunchtime. 😆

You blocked the time out.
You planned to eat.
Maybe even sit down with a cuppa.

Then the message arrives…

“Any chance you’ve got something around lunchtime?”

And suddenly you’re thinking:

I could eat quickly.
I don’t want to lose the booking.
I can squeeze them in…

Here’s your reminder:

A break in your diary isn’t an available appointment.

Your client’s time matters.
But your time matters too.

A sustainable massage business needs to look after you the therapist as well as the client.

If you’re a massage therapist learning to build a business without running yourself into the ground, stick around …we talk about the bits of therapist life nobody warns you about. 😆
