Leadership is made up of two main parts.
1. The Functional side - strategy, vision, decisiveness, organisation and planning, achieving results.
2. The Relational side – self awareness, composure, team dynamics, mentoring and developing, emotional and interpersonal intelligence and connection.
Commonly when we think of leadership we think of the functional side. More often than not the relational side or the human side is significantly overlooked which leads to gaping holes in overall performance.
Take a minute to think of the most successful leadership teams you have been part of; of course they will have been competent and experts in their fields, AND they will also have cultivated skills like trust, vulnerability, agility, care and deep relationships. These relational sides of leadership are the most under developed in our corporate world and the secret to your teams becoming high performing, your people reaching and exceeding their potential and turning over greater profits.
At Lea_p, we believe there are 10 relational qualities to becoming a heart centred leader.

This years Earth Day theme is Restore Our Earth.
There are so many simple things we can do each day to support protect our home. From cutting down on waste to choosing suitable options to planting trees and further educate ourselves of the importance and value of our natural resources.
Today at Lea_p we’re thinking of what our Earth means to us and how we can further commit to protecting it.
“Mother Nature is truly our most precious gift. For me earth means; life, home, nature, beauty, wisdom, teacher. It’s magical, spinning and travelling at 67,000 miles per hour all day everyday in the middle of the universe, giving life to everything we know. We are so blessed to be held by it every single day. It’s humbling beyond words.” - Lauren Burton

2020 was filled with much uncertainty and has taught us that we really don’t know what the future holds and what’s going to happen. We’ve learnt about being agile, flexible and present to cope with leadership challenges and we want to offer you another skill of intentionally visioning with your team to get clear on what it is that you’re wanting to achieve this year as well as creating buy in and inspiration with your employees.
- Are your team engaged at work?
- Are you struggling to motivate them?
- Is everyone feeling aligned on why they do what they do?
- Do you have a clear vision for the year?
To create a vision you will need two things. Have a read of our latest newsletter to find out more: https://lnkd.in/dy5wwyc

At Lea_p, we’ve had several conversations about people who’ve inspired us and healthy debate as to why we’ve found them so. It’s a topic we get excited about. We want to stimulate debate about leadership and what great looks like.
Our views may not be shared by everyone. We take a particular stance on what great leadership is needed in the world if we are to come together as one human race, evolve beyond the ubiquitous command and control approach to leadership. We think that stance will become clearer by the leaders we choose to spotlight.
So who is it we love?

Being a leader in the time of Covid-19 clearly calls upon different skills, competencies and paradigms to those needed in more benign times.
But what resources did leaders call upon in the uncertainty of the global pandemic?
What have people learnt about themselves and their teams?
What does the future look like?
To answer these questions and more, we conducted primary research in midst of the crisis to find the answers from leaders who were in the thick of it. With our guest, Andrew Reynolds, Chief Executive & Global Board Director at Rider Levett Bucknall, we will walk through a framework to support resilient leaders in a crisis.
This framework was born out of what we’ve learnt in this research, and will provide insight into the key phases of a crisis and how to adapt as a leader. Andy will offer some of his own experiences of the struggles and challenges of being a leader in these times.
