Job Title: Nursery Cleaner (Part-Time)

Location: Explorers Collier Row

Hours: 6pm - 8pm - Monday to Friday

Salary: To be discussed

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented cleaner to join our team at a friendly and welcoming nursery. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

* Cleaning and sanitising rooms
* Sweeping, mopping, and dusting surfaces
* Cleaning toilet areas and wash areas to a high standard
* Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
* Ensuring cleaning supplies are stocked and stored safely
* Following health and safety and infection control procedures

Requirements:

* Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential
* Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
* Ability to work independently and efficiently
* Trustworthy, punctual, and responsible
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
* Suitable references

***JOB VACANCIES***

We have positions opening to join our amazing team at Explorers Collier Row and become part of the Explorers family. We are looking for nursery practitioners who have their level 2 or 3 childcare qualification, as well as bank staff to be used on an adhoc basis.

The nursery has an excellent reputation and we want to maintain our excellent standards. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team.

We are looking for someone who....
* Has a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
* Is able to laugh at jokes they don't understand, or don't find funny!
* Preferably has a little bit of quirkiness.
* If a child requests that they be a captain of a pirate ship, help them be the best pirate captain they can be!
* Feels comfortable telling everybody in the same room as them that they are going to the toilet!
* Doesn't have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
* Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
* Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
* Must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work, with unknown substances on their clothing.
* Must have a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions.
* Must have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
* Must have the ability to read a ten page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
* Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
* Loves being outside come rain or shine. At Explorers we love the great outdoors.
* Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like it.

Festive Christmas Eve Outing 🎄☕

The children enjoyed a festive trip to Costa, where they had a babychino (served warm, not hot) and loved saying “cheers” with their peers. We then went on a Christmas walk to admire the festive lights, before visiting the local church to see their outdoor nativity display.

The children had a lovely time and really enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit. 😊
