🇪🇸 SPANISH CLUB TUTOR WANTED – BECKENHAM 🇪🇸

Young Explorers HQ is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Spanish tutor to lead our fun Spanish Club for Year 1 and Year 2 children at a primary school in Beckenham.

📍 Location: Beckenham
📅 Day: Fridays during term time
⏰ Time: 3:30pm–4:30pm (1 hour)
💷 Paid role
👧 Age group: KS1 – Years 1 & 2

🇪🇸 About the role

You’ll introduce young children to basic Spanish through fun, interactive sessions using flashcards, videos, songs, games, activities and crafts.

Young Explorers HQ provides the session plans and resources, allowing you to focus on delivering enjoyable sessions that inspire children to learn a new language.

🌟 Who are we looking for?

* A good level of Spanish and a passion for sharing the language.
* Experience working with children is essential.
* Previous teaching or tutoring experience is desirable.
* A friendly, reliable and creative approach to engaging young learners.

🔎 Safeguarding: The successful applicant will need to complete our vetting process, including an Enhanced DBS check, in line with applicable safeguarding requirements.

Our budding coders have completed their first half term with us at Coding Club! They’ve been learning the basics of coding and discovering how to use coordinates to move sprites in their very own Scratch projects. 🖥️✨

Something VERY special is happening in the sky today! 🚀✨

Tonight, Wednesday 12th August, we’ll be able to see a partial solar eclipse from the UK! 🌎🌙☀️

📍 London timings:
🌒 Starts: 6:17pm
🌑 Maximum: around 7:12pm
🌒 Ends: 8:06pm

Why not step outside with your Young Explorers and see if you can spot the Moon slowly moving across the Sun? 🔭🪐

🎥 We’ve found this great little video to help children to make a pinhole solar eclipse projector.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Never look directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse. Children should only view it using proper solar eclipse glasses/approved solar viewing equipment or a safe indirect viewing method.

Today we visited the Learning Technologies Exhibition at ExCeL London to explore new ideas, tools and platforms that can help us continue developing Young Explorers HQ.

As our clubs grow, we’re always looking for better ways to support children’s learning, improve our activities, and make sure our sessions remain engaging, well-structured and full of curiosity.

From digital learning tools to creative approaches for training and engagement, it was a great opportunity to see how technology can support the kind of exciting, hands-on learning we love bringing into our after-school clubs.

At Young Explorers HQ, we’re proud to keep learning too — so we can keep inspiring young explorers across our local schools.

It’s the first day back Coding Club at Hawes Down Primary and we’re loving the characters ready for coding next week into Space Invaders! 👾

Aliens, rockets, and some seriously creative little monsters — the imagination on show today was brilliant. Can’t wait to see them come to life on screen next session. 🚀
